Kinderdijk is lcated where the Lek and Nrd rivers meet tgether. Nineteen f the 20 Kinderdijk windmills remain and were listed as a Wrld Heritage Site in 1997. The windmills line the canals berween the tw rivers. Of the 19 windmills, 16 still have millers wh live inside and cntrl the huge sails(翼板)in the wind. These windmills cntinue t help manage the Netherlands’ nging tight t stay abve water.
Fr turists bat turs are ffered alng the canals and walkways leading frm the visitr center the windmills. Tw windmills serve as museums, filled with ld millers’ items and phts.
