With the develpment f ecnmy and glbalizatin, many freign friends are learning Chinese since language is a gd way t bridge the barriers amng cultures. It’s a gd chance t guide ss t think abut the causes behind Chinese learning heat and evaluate the rle f language in crssing-cultural cmmunicatin. Thus, the teaching bjectives are designed as fllw:
    Teaching Aims:
    T listen fr the setting by fcusing n wh,where and what.
    T identify the detailed infrmatin by brainstrming pssible questins based n the cntext.
    T evaluate the causes behind Chinese learning heat and the rle f language in crssing-cultural cmmunicatin.
    3.Teaching Prcedures:
    Step 1: Lead-in
    Watch a vide and Discuss Chinese learning heat .
    Hw d freign friends learn Chinese?
    (Aims: t elicit the tpic and stir up ss’ interests in this tpic.)
    Step 2: Pre-listening
    Watch a vide and discuss what ss can d in Cnfucius Institute.
    (Aims: t knw sme abut Cnfucius Institute and get prepared fr the fllwing listening.)
    Step 3: Listen fr the setting.
    Listen fr the setting by fcusing n basic infrmatin like wh, what and where.
    Raise pssible questins as a hst.
    (Aims: t train ss’ the strategy f listening fr setting and activate ss listening mtivatin by putting themselves int the authentic setting.)
    Step 4: Listen fr detailed infrmatin
    Listen fr the answers t the questins raised by ss.
    Raise questins based n the general pinins and listen fr further infrmatin.
    (Aims: t train ss’ critical thinking ability thrugh raising questins and fully understand the rle f language learning in crssing-cultural cmmunicatin.)
    Step 5:Thinking
    Why d mre and mre freign friends are learning Chinese?
    (Aims: t explre the causes and extend ss hrizns.)
    Step 6: Interview sb and rle-play
    Imagine yu're interviewing a student at a Cnfucius Institute in anther cuntry abut his r her experience.
    1. Brainstrm the questins fr the interviewer and pssible answers.
    2. Rle-play the interview.
    3. Use the phrases and questins in the bx t help yu.
    (Aims: t apply what they’ve learnt int speaking.)
    Step 7: Prnunciatin Learning
    T knw what the weak frm is and practise it.
