本节课为听说课，主要意图是引出本单元的主题：自然灾害。首先通过观看一段视频，直观认识五种不同的自然灾害，然后听一段关于自然灾害的新闻报道，获取常见自然灾害的基本信息，如级别、发生时间、毁坏程度、伤亡情况以及起因等，最后提供了地震、野火、水灾的简要信息，让学生去使用自己的语言完成一个简短的新闻报道。最后复习一些发音规律。
课时目标
1.认识常见的几种自然灾害，如地震、森林火灾等。
2.听懂几种常见自然灾害的新闻报道的介绍，并归纳要点。
3.正确使用自然灾害话题相关词语，报道一次自然灾害。

活动一：感知与注意（Get t knw sme natural disasters）
1.Watch and lk
Ask students t watch the vide Natural Disaster and lk at the phts first.
Write.
After watching and lking，ask students t write dwn the names f the natural disasters.
Check.
Ask students t check the answers first in pairs r grups and then with whle class.

活动二：获取与梳理
1.Listen and tick（SB，P48，Part 2）
Ask students t listen t the news reprt and tick the disasters that they hear.
2. Circle and write (SB, P48, Part 3)
Ask students t circle the key wrd(s) in the questins belw and write the kind f infrmatin they refer t.
3. Listen and answer the questins.
(1) What was the magnitude f the earthquake in Ecuadr?
(2) Hw many peple were killed r injured in Ecuadr?
(3) Where are the flds?
(4) What are the rescue wrkers and sldiers ding in the fld-hit area?
(5) When did peple see the trnad in Memphis?
(6) Which buildings were damaged in Seul?
(7) What caused the landslide in Seul?
【设计意图】该环节主要目的是获取和梳理信息，设计了三个关联活动，首先通过听新闻报道，学生勾出报道里谈到的自然灾害的类别，然后圈出问题里的关键词并写出问题的信息类别，如数字、时间、地点、方式、原因等，最后再次听报道，回答问题。这个过程渗透了听并且获取细节信息的学习策略的训练，有助于提高听力理解的能力。

活动三：描述与阐释（Prepare a reprt）

Ask students t read abut the disasters and fill in the table t get the relative infrmatin.
Prepare a shrt news reprt
（1）Chse ne f the disasters.
（2）Chsing prper language.
Ask students t read the infrmatin again and think abut what language can be used t present the infrmatin.
Sme students may have difficulty in chsing the prper language，s it is better t wrk in grups s that they can help each ther.
3.Present.
（1）Ask students t present their wn news reprt first in pairs and then in grups.
（2）Ask several students t present in frnt f the class.
