(·兰州五十八中高二检测) Who are these people rushing by you in the street? More than 215 million people now call America “home”， but most of them can trace their families back to other parts of the world. If you look at the names on shop windows, you will see that Americans come from many different lands. The idea that these people, who once were strangers to the United States, have lost the customs and cultures of their original countries and have become “American” is really not true. In fact, what exists in America is more often a kind of “side－by－side” living in which groups of people from other countries often have kept many of their customs and habits.

I'm glad to learn that you're thinking about studying abroad.It's true that more and more Chinese families are sending their children abroad to study. Some of them even send the students in middle school or elementary school to different countries. Personally I think, some of the teenagers are not mature enough to take care of themselves. They are not independent. When they are at home, they depend on their parents or grandparents. Therefore, it is easy for them to get lost both in their life and in their study abroad. My suggestion is that we teenagers should not be sent abroad too early, and the best time for being abroad to study is when we graduate from the college or university. Perhaps, that is much better.
