Ⅰ. Pre-task preparations
1.学生诵读儿歌,复习第一课时所学句型。
This is the way I come to school, I come to school, I come to school.
This is the way I come to school. I come to school on foot.
This is the way I come to school, I come to school, I come to school.
This is the way I come to school. I come to school by bike.
This is the way I come to school, I come to school, I come to school.
This is the way I come to school. I come to school by underground.
…
2.学生通过接龙游戏,操练核心词汇及句型,并做适当拓展。请五六位学生上来,每人抽取一张写有交通工具的单词卡片,根据卡片上的单词开展句型练习。
T: (pick the card for on foot) I come to school on foot. How do you come to school?
S1: (pick the card for by bus) I come to school by bus. How do you come to school?
S2: (pick the card for by car) I come to school by car. How do you come to school?
…
也可拓展一些交通方式的词组,如by underground, by taxi, by school bus等。
Ⅱ. While-task procedures
1.与同桌开展对子问答。
S1: Do you live near school?
S2: Yes, I do.
S1: How do you come to school?
S2: I come to school by bike.
S1: What time do you leave home?
S2: I leave home at half past seven in the morning.
S1: What time do you arrive at school?
S2: I arrive at school at a quarter to eight.
提供卡片,学生为同桌记下这些问题的答案,并保存好备用。
2.运用所学句型,分组完成下面的调查表。也可以利用Do a survey中的表格,勾选出每位组员的上学方式。
T: How do your classmates come to school? Let's do a survey.
S1: Hello, (S2's name). How do you come to school?
S2: I come to school...

3.让学生延续上一次活动的调查表,填入家人上班的交通方式,并开展对子活动。
T: My father is a doctor. He works in a hospital. He works far from home. He goes to work by bus. (S1's name), what does your father do? How does he go to work?
S1: My father is a teacher. He works near home. He goes to work by bike. How does your father go to work, (S2's name)?
S2: He goes to work on foot.
然后指导学生完成Think and write的练习。
4.出示Learn the sounds的语音单词卡片sp (wasp, crisp)请学生跟读并记住sp的发音。
T: sp, / sp /, wasp, wasp.
Ss: sp, / sp /, wasp, wasp.
T: sp, / sp /, crisp, crisp.
Ss: sp, / sp /, crisp, crisp.
然后播放Learn the sounds的儿歌录音。学生模仿录音朗读儿歌。鼓励学生模仿录音中的语音语调。
可与较前学过的语音p/p/及sk/sk/比较,读出几个单词,让学生进行归类。
p: sheep, tap, top, pig, pie
sk: ask, desk, mask, task, disk
sp: wasp, crisp,clasp, gas
Ⅲ. Post-task activities
1.请每组学生代表口头汇报各组数据,教师汇总数据后,请学生仿照Do a survey中的柱形图绘制班级学生的上学情况统计表,然后完成书面汇报,并贴在墙上展示。
S1: In our group, one student comes to school on foot. Ten students come to school by bus. Three students come to school by car.
T: How many students come to school by bus?
S2: Fourteen students.
2.让学生介绍同学或朋友去学校的方式,也可描述家人上班的方式。可利用While-task活动1记录的信息。
Sally is my friend. She lives near our school. She comes to school on foot. She leaves home at half past seven. She arrives at school at a quarter to eight.
Jill is my aunt. She works far from home. She takes a bus to work. She leaves home at half past seven every day.
