Teaching objectives:
1. Enable students to practise the reading skill of scanning for key information to understand the textual content related to sports.
2. Guide students to admire the four people’s positive attitude towards life and master relevant expressions to reflect on the physical and mental effects of sports.
3. Lead students to understand the structure of a story about writing and then accurately tell one’s own story about sports.
4. Help students to reflect on and adjust the learning methods and process.

Show students the chart and guide them to read“Learning to learn”to find the method to read a chart.

Reading for structure
If we can grasp the structure of a passage, we can learn about the passage much easier. To grasp the structure, let’s firstly try to understand the title and get the main idea of the four stories.
1. Read the passage and talk about your understanding of the title.
2. Scan the passage and match the main idea of each story.
(1) Story1 A. Running made him get rid of the stress of work.
(2) Story2 B.She fell in love with running because of an app-Running Power.
(3) Story3 C. To raise money for gorillas, she ran wearing a gorilla suit.
(4) Story4 D.Running made him win in national competitions.

1. Ask students to go through the story for the third time and answer the four questions.
