Step 1 Greetings & Warm-up
- Greetings
T: Hello, boys and girls.
S: Hello, Miss Chen.
T: Nice to see you.
S: Nice to see you too.
- Let’s have a New Year party.
T: The New Year is coming soon. Let’s have a New Year party! What can we do at New Year’s Party?
S1: We can say “Happy New Year.”
T: Good! Happy New Year!
T: Now please say “Happy New Year” to your deskmate. What else can we do?
S2: We can sing “Happy New Year”.
T: Great! Let’s sing the song together now. (播放歌曲音频)
T: I like your nice voice. That’s a good New Year present. We can also give and get presents. Do you like presents? (板书单词present并领读)
Ss: Yes.
T: What presents would you like, S1? (教师可以随意问几个学生)

Step 2 Party time
1. Game time
T: Boys and girls, do you like these presents? We can play games at the New Year party too.
S: Great!
T: I see you like games. Let’s play a game with these presents. First, let’s read and spell them loudly.
Ss: robot, CD … (学生齐声拼读单词)
T: Now let’s see what’s missing. OK?
S: OK!
T: What’s missing here?
S: A CD.
T: Very good! You all have magic eyes. (学生们一起看着屏幕大声说出消失的那个礼物,教师及时鼓励表扬)
2. Chant time
T: Boys and girls, look at this picture. Do you know what it is?
Ss: It’s a doll.
T: Good! Now let’s chant by following the rhythm.
(播放节奏音频,教师示范朗读儿歌一遍)
T: Do you like this rhyme?
S: Yes!
T: Can you read it well? Ready, go!
S: This, this, what’s this? Doll, doll, it’s a doll ...
T: OK! You all did a good job. Can you change the words to make a new chant?
You can listen to my new chant.

Step 3 Fun time

T: Yes, you are right! Can you guess what presents are in the boxes?

T: Good try. Now let’s have a look.
S: It’s a doll, a ball, a CD, a toy car and a robot.
T: Very good! Do you have magic eyes? And can you guess what’s in this box? Let’s have a try, OK?
S: OK.
T: Now let’s look at the screen. What’s this?
S: It’s a ball.
T: Yes, it is. You are so smart! Now let’s see some food. There is a cake, a pie, a sweet, a hot dog and an egg. Let’s guess what’s in it.
S: It’s a cake.
T: No, it isn’t. Try again.
S: It’s a pie.
T: Yes, it is. Let’s go on. What’s this?
S: It’s a car.
T: It’s a toy car. Look at these pictures. Can you say? What’s this?
S1: It’s a toy dog.
T: What’s that?
S2: It’s a toy panda.
T: Yes. They’re all toys.

T: I have another game here. Boys and girls, please look at the flash carefully. How to play? (播放Fun time 动画)
T: Look at me. I have a present card now. And can you guess what this is in English?

Step 4 Revision time
- Act out Story time
T: In the story, Uncle John gives Mike and Helen some presents. Do you remember what they are? Can you act out Story time? (学生三人一组准备表演课文)
- Revision time (Pair work & Group work)
T: We know that Uncle John prepares a present for Tim. And now Tim is back. What will Tim say and do? Can you guess? You can discuss with your desk mates.
S: Tim will say, “Happy New Year to you!” Uncle John will give a present to him and he will say “Thank you”.
T: You are so creative. Can you act it out? Let’s prepare it with your group members.
Homework 家庭作业
1. Listen and read Story time & Fun time after the tape. 熟练听读Story time和Fun time.
2. Follow the tape and sing the song. 将今天的英文歌给朋友和家人听。
3. Play the game with your friends after class. 和同桌或朋友玩猜卡片游戏。

说课
本课的重点是复习巩固课文、词汇以及Fun time。因此我以举办元旦晚会为主线,带着学生先运用Happy New Year 相互问候,然后跟唱新年歌曲激发他们的兴趣。
接来下以Party为场景开展了两个活动:先是看图片猜单词,然后由词过渡到句子,让学生运用词汇和句型创编儿歌,激发学生运用语言的兴趣。在Fun time 部分,教师先通过Magic eyes的游戏并帮助学生熟悉本单元单词并复习之前学过的单词,为Fun time的开展打开思路。在正式进入Fun time教师先播放动画让学生了解活动的规则,然后安排学生两人一组以句型What’s this/ that? It’s a /an …为主开展活动。
课文复习环节分层推进。基础部分:让学生回忆课文内容进行表演;提高部分:创设Tim回来后看到礼物的情景,来激发学生的想象力和表达的欲望。
