Lesson 19: A Story or a Poem?
设计说明 首先向学生展示一首简单有趣的英文诗和故事书的封面,并向学生介绍它们的大意来导入课堂,引起学生学习的兴趣。让学生分享关于自己喜欢的诗歌和故事,接下来教授本课节的生词。播放课文录音,让学生带着问题进行听力训练。再次播放对话录音,让学生学会标准读音,并尽量模仿录音中的语音语调朗读,提升口语水平和朗读的流利度。再通过设置与课文相关的阅读任务,巩固和提高学生阅读理解和准确捕捉信息的能力。接着进行Let’s Do It!活动 2,锻炼学生归纳、梳理关键信息的能力。在小组讨论环节,让学生进行小组讨论活动,合作解决问题,增加学习英语的趣味性并激发学生学习英语的自主性。
教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词: compare, passage, although, fat, aloud 接触单词: limit, format, rhyme, effort 短语: compared with... 2.能力目标 能够读懂关于文学的对话。 3.情感目标 享受文学的乐趣。 重点难点 1. 重点:学习本课节新词汇及重要表达。 2. 难点:用英语表达诗歌和故事的要素和特点。 教学准备 PPT课件;相关录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up 1. Show a poem to the students and describe it. 2. Show a cover of a storybook to the students and describe it. 3. Ask the students the following questions: ·Do you have a poem or story? What is it? 4. Ask the students to talk about the given questions. 5. Choose some students to answer. Step 2 Pre-reading 1. Show the students new words and the Chinese meaning. 2.Ask the students to read aloud. 3.Ask the students to read the poem The Donut on Page 50 and try to find the rhyme. 4.Show the answers to them. Answers:
Step 3 Listening 1. Play the recording for the students to listen to and ask the students the ques- tions. (1) What did Danny describe in his poem? (2) What do you need to think about when you are writing a poem? 2. Ask one of the students to give the answers. 3. Check the answers together. Answers: (1) He described something he loves. (2) Format, rhyme and meaning. Step 4 Reading 1. Play the recording for the students to listen to and repeat. 2. Get the students to read lesson and fill in the blanks with the correct words. (Let’s Do It! No. 1) Brian, Jenny and Danny learned about poems and stories this week. Their teacher, Ms. Cox, told them to write a _____ or a poem. Brian started writing his . Jenny thought it was easier to write a story than to write a poem. But Danny didn’t think so. He said, “ with poems, stories are usually longer.” Jenny said, “A story doesn’t limit you like a does. With poems, every word must have and meaning. Sometimes writing less takes effort than writing more.” 3. Ask some of the students to give the answers. 4. Check the answers together. Answers: poems: b, c, e stories: a, d Step 5 Post-reading 1.Role-play the conversation in pairs. 2. Choose some pairs to act out in the class. 3.Try to change Danny’s poem with words you like. Share your new poem with your classmates. (Let’s Do It! No. 3) When I wake up on a warm sunny morning in spring, A (adjective), (adjective) and (adjective) (food) is my favorite thing. Let the students find out some key sentences and phrases. 6. Ask the students to find some difficult language points. 7. Let the students have a discussion about these difficult language points in groups of four. 8. Help the students explain these difficult language points. Step 6 Language points 1. Have you finished your English homework yet, Brian? 布莱恩,你已经完成英语作业了吗? yet 此处用作副词,意为“已经”,用于疑问句;用于否定句时,意为“(迄今)还,尚”。多用于现在完成时态的句子中。 Have you gotten your notebook yet? 你已经买到笔记本了吗? My elder brother hasn’t come back yet. 我哥哥还没有回来。 2. I feel that it’s easier to write a story. 我觉得写一个故事更容易。 It’s+形容词+to do sth.意为“做某事是······的”。 It’s easy to work out this maths problem. 做出这道数学题很容易。 【拓展】 It’s important for us to learn English well. 对我们来说,学好英语很重要。 It’s very kind of you to help me.你能帮我真是太好了。 3. Compared with poems, stories usually have longer passages. 和诗相比,故事通常有更长的段落。 compare此处用作不及物动词,意为“比较”。 compared with...意为“与······相比较”,在句中作状语起补充说明的作用。Compared with that book, this one is much better. 和那本书相比,这本好得多。 辨析:compare...with...与 compare...to... compare...with...把······与······相比 compare...to... 把······与······相比;把······比作······ He compared his handwriting with/to mine. 他把自己的书写和我的作比较。 Books can be compared to friends.书籍可被比喻成朋友。 4. It takes too much time to write a story. 写一个故事花费太多的时间。 辨析:too much, too many 与 much too too much太多,表示数量,后接不可数名词 too many太多,表示程度,后接可数名词复数 much too太,表示程度,后接形容词或副词 He has too much work to do.他有太多的工作要做。 There are too many people here.这儿有太多的人。 You are much too kind to me.你对我真是太好了。 注意: too much还可以修饰动词,作状语,常位于所修饰词之后。 Eating too much is bad for your health.吃太多对你的健康有害。 5. Although a poem has fewer words, it's not always easier to write. 虽然诗有较少的单词,但是写起来并不总是容易的。 although 连词,意为“虽然,尽管;不过,然而”,与 though意思相同,引导让步状语从句。 它所引导的从句不能与并列连词but连用,但可以与yet, still等词连用。 Although it was hard to finish this task, we managed it on time. 虽然完成这项任务很难,但我们还是按时完成了。 6.Sometimes writing less takes more effort than writing more. 有时,写得少比写得多要付出更多的努力。 effort 名词,意为“精力,努力”。 make an effort to do sth.意为“努力做某事”; put effort into...意为“投入精力于······”。 I will make an effort to find out more information. 我将尽力找出更多信息。 7. Like it’s calling me aloud to eat! 好像在大声呼唤我享用! aloud 副词,意为“大声地”,指为使人能听见而发声,常与read, speak等动词连用。aloud没有比较等级。 He read the text aloud this morning.他今天早上朗读了课文。 Step 7 Homework 1.
