设计说明 首先通过问题“What is a fairy tale?”导入本节课话题。通过给学生展示相关图片和句子,教授新单词。通过设置Fast reading, Careful reading 和After reading环节,训练学生速读、细读等能力,培养学生在阅读中抓住关键信息的能力,让学生通过完成活动任务,掌握课文结构。利用Let’s Do It!中的练习2,让学生学会运用所学单词和短语;利用Let’s Do It!中的练习3,既可以进行一个拓展阅读,又训练了过去进行时。通过语言点的讲解,帮助学生解决课文中的疑惑和重难点。最后,通过当堂达标训练,让学生自测本课节掌握的情况,便于查漏补缺。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 掌握单词:loud, board, awake, musician, perhaps 接触单词:frightened 短语:once upon a time, run away, no longer, pass by 2. 能力目标 能读懂简单的童话故事,并能抓住文中的关键信息。 3. 情感目标 学会与他人分享美好的事物,做一个真正快乐的人。 重点难点 1.重点:掌握本课节的单词、短语和句型。 2.难点:过去进行时。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的音频文件。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1.Talk about the question with the students. What is a fairy tale? A fairy tale is a story that often has characters like fairies(仙女), dwarfs(小矮人), giants(巨人) or mermaids(美人鱼). 2.Think about it. Ask the students to think about the following questions. Do you like reading fairy tales? Do you know any famous fairy tales? What are they?

Answers: 1. He built a high wall around his garden and put a notice on a board: DO NOT ENTER!. 2. In the giant’s garden, it was still winter. 3. He felt sad. Read Paragraphs 5-6 and answer the question. What did the giant hear when he was lying awake in his bed? Answer: He heard lovely music coming through the window. After reading 1.Fill in the blacks and then try to retell the story. _____________, there was a lovely garden which _____________ grass, trees, singing birds and happy children. Sum up:过去进行时结构:was/were+动词-ing形式 Step 4 Practice Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words or phrases in the box.

Once upon a time, there was a large, lovely garden. 从前,有一个美丽的大花园。 once upon a time意为“从前;很久以前”,这是讲故事常用的开头语。类似的表达还有long, long ago, a long time ago等。 Once upon a time , there was an old woman living in the forest. 从前,有一位老妇人住在森林里。 2.How happy they were!他们是多么快乐啊! 本句为感叹句,其构成为:How+形容词/副词(+主语+谓语)! How beautiful the flowers are!这些花多漂亮啊! How fast the boy runs!这个男孩跑得多快啊! 【拓展】what也可以引导感叹句,结构为: ①What+a/an+形容词+可数名词单数(+主语+谓语)! ②What+形容词+可数名词复数/不可数名词(+主语+谓语)! What a big tree it is! 多么大的一棵树啊! What interesting books they are! 多么有趣的书啊! What fine weather it is!多好的天气啊! 3. …the giant cried in a loud voice. ……这个巨人大声地喊。 in a loud voice意为“大声地”;in a low voice意为“低声地”。 The girl usually speaks in a loud voice.这个女孩儿通常都是大声说话。 loud ① 形容词,意为“大声的,喧哗的”。 The music was too loud.音乐太响了。 Too loud sound would damage your ears. 太大声音会伤着你的耳朵。 ②副词,意为“大声地”。 Can you speak a little louder?你能说得大声点儿吗? 4. The poor children no longer had a place to play. 可怜的孩子们再也没有玩的地方了。 no longer 意为“不再”,主要用来表示时间上不再延续,常与延续性动词连用。no longer通常位于行为动词之前,be动词、助动词或情态动词之后。同义短语为not…any longer。 You are no longer a child.=You are not a child any longer.你不再是个孩子了。 【拓展】no more=not…any more也可表示“不再” 。 5.One morning as the giant was lying awake in his bed, he heard lovely music coming through the window.一天早上,当巨人醒着躺在床上时,他听见从窗外传来了美妙的音乐。 awake 形容词,意为“醒着的”,在句中常作表语,强调状态。当表达“完全醒着”的意思时,不用very修饰awake,可用wide来修饰。 Is he awake or asleep? 他醒着还是睡着了? The patient was wide awake all night. 这个病人整夜没睡。 6. He thought it must be the king’s musicians passing by.他想一定是国王的乐师在此经过。 (1)must情态动词,意为“肯定,一定”,表示有较大把握的推测,若表示否定推测,则用can’t。 You must be tired after a long walk.步行很长时间后你一定累了。 —Is that Mary over there?那边那个人是玛丽吗? —It can’t be her. She has gone to Kunming.不可能是她。她去昆明了。 (2)pass by意为“路过;经过;过去”。 I passed by your house last night at about ten o’clock. 我昨天晚上大约十点钟的时候经过你家。 Step 7 Summary Sum up what we’ve learnt in this period with the class. 1.New words: loud, frightened, board, awake, musician, perhaps 2.
