    Unit 3  Teenage problems Integrated skills Study skills

    设计说明

    首先通过自由谈论“What problem do you have in your life?导入新课,然后学习讨论并给出建议。接着引出Nora的问题。完成一系列听的任务,再根据此内容展开说的练习,让学生谈论自己的问题,并提出解决建议。最后利用练习来复习巩固本节课知识。

    教学目标

    通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词和短语:chemistry, bookworm, progress, worried, aloud, pronounce, correctly, pronunciation, mention, laugh at, go over, dont mention it

    2.能力目标

    通过听说练习,训练学生听说的技能,逐步掌握听力技巧。

    3.情感目标

    通过听说练习,让学生了解青少年问题,并学会积极解决问题,培养良好的个人品质,健康成长。

    重点难点

    重点:听懂关于青少年问题的文章,学会提出建议。

    教学过程

    Step 1  Lead-in

    1. Ask a question What problem do you have in your life?. Talk about teenage problems.

    2. Ask students to give some advice on the problems.

    Step 2  Presentation  

    1. Show students a list of Noras problems. Guess what problems she has.

    2. Learn the new wordchemistry.

    Step 3  Listen and practice 

    1. Do A1.

    (1) Ask them to listen and tick the problems Nora has.

    (2) Check the answers.

    Answers:

      

    2. Do A2.

    (1) Read through the notes and fill in some of the blanks.

    (2) Play the tape for them to listen twice and fill in the others.

    (3) Check the answers and give them some explanation.

    (1) Read and fill in the blanks.

    Step 4  Speak up 

    1. Ask students to listen to the recording and answer the three questions.

    (1) What is Daniel’s problem?

    (2) How does he feel?

    (3) What suggestions does Millie give him?

    Answers: (1) He has made little progress in his English.

    (2) He is very worried.

    (3) Go over what he has learnt as often as possible. Read English aloud every morning. Try to pronounce all the words correctly.

    2. Listen and read the dialogue in pairs.

    3. Act it out.

    4. Make up their own dialogues. Take turns to share the problems and give suggestions.

    Step 5  Language points

    1. Ive made little progress in my English.

    我在英语学习方面几乎没有进步。

    (1) make progress 取得进步,progress为不可数名词。

    If you work hard, you will make great progress.

    如果你努力学习,你会取得很大进步。

    (2) little 几乎没有,常用作否定词, 修饰不可数名词。

    I have little money. Will you please give me some?

    我没什么钱了,你能给我点儿吗?

    2. Perhaps you should go over what you’ve learnt as often as possible.

    或许你应该尽可能经常地复习学过的(知识)。

    Step 6  Study skills

    1. Tell students what predicting is and when we can use this kind of reading skill.

    To predict is to guess what comes next. It helps us understand what kinds of books or articles we are reading, and where we might find information.

    When we read an article, we can often predict the content from the title. We can also use the headings in an article to predict the main idea of each part. Headings are the titles of the different parts. Oftenthey are in bold.

    2. Read a passage and learn to use the way of predicting.

    3. Do Exercise A. List the points and tick the answers.
