设计说明

首先复习电影类型，通过图片导入电影节的内容，然后通过听来完成关于电影节电影的信息，再根据此内容展开说的练习，让学生谈论自己喜欢与不喜欢的电影类型。之后介绍如何看剧本，最后利用练习来复习巩固本节课知识。

教学目标

通过本课时的教学，让学生达成以下目标：

1.知识目标

掌握单词和短语: tale, dinosaur, special offer, cancel, neither, stupid, fall in love with sb.。

2.能力目标

（1）听懂有关电影节放映影片的介绍；

（2）完成电影节放映电影的报告；

（3）正确使用交际用语,谈论不同的电影类型；

（4）掌握剧本的基本构成,学会阅读简单的剧本。

3.情感目标

培养学生对电影艺术的兴趣,正确选择适合自己的电影。

重点难点

重点：掌握与影片相关的交际用语、单词和短语。

难点：听懂电影节放映的影片的信息。

教学过程

Step 1  Lead-in

Ask and answer the following questions:

What are different types of films?

What type of film do you like?

Which film festivals do you know?

Step 2  Presentation  

1. Show them a table of film festival cinema guide. Ask and answer about the

table.

Where is Olympic Cinema?  What film is showing there?

Is it suitable for all ages?      How much is the ticket?

2. Ask them to ask and answer in pairs about the other two.

Step 3  Listen and practice 

1. Show the notes in A1. Read the sentences and try to understand each of them. Fill in some of the blanks according to the table.

2. Listen to the tape twice and complete the notes. Check the answers.

3. Listen again and finish A3. Then check the answers.

What is on at the local cinemas?

Step 4  Speak up 

1. Talk about different kinds of films they have learnt.

2. Listen to the tape and answer the questions.

(1) What is Sandy’s favourite kind of film? Why?

(2) What is Daniel’s favourite kind of film? Why?

(3) What does Daniel think of horror films?

Answers： (1) Sandy likes romantic films because they usually have beautiful stories.

(2) Daniel likes action films because they are really exciting.

(3) He thinks they seem to be full of mysteries, but in fact, they are quite stupid.

3. Read the dialogue in pairs. And then act it out.

4. Make up similar dialogues by using the following useful expressions.

I like/don’t like…          I love/hate…

…makes me laugh/cry.     …is very clever.

…is my favourite film.     …are my favourite kind(s) of films.

I’m not interested in …     I find…very boring/interesting.

…is dull/exciting.

Step 5  Language points

1. Here is some information about the films showing at the local cinemas.

这里是当地影院正在上映的一些影片信息。

(1) showing at the local cinemas 是现在分词短语作后置定语, 修饰the films。

Do you know the boy standing under the tree?

你认识站在树底下的那个男孩吗？

(2) show 上映, 演出, 展览, 可以用作及物动词或不及物动词。

电影《英雄》将在这家电影院上映。

The film called Hero will show in the cinema.(vi.)

The film called Hero will be shown in the cinema. (vt.)

They will show the film called Hero in the cinema. (vt.)

2. It is about a woman who falls in love with a man when she travels on a ship.  它讲述了一个女人乘船旅行时爱上了一位男士的故事。

fall in love with sb.（=be in love with sb.）爱上某人

You will fall in love with the city if you go there.  

如果你去那里, 你会爱上那座城市的。

The boy fell in love with the girl at his first sight. 男孩对女孩一见钟情。

They have been in love with each other for ten years.

他们彼此相爱十年了。

3. Daniel, this Saturday’s talk on films has been cancelled.

丹尼尔, 本周六关于电影的讲座已经取消。

(1) cancel［cancel(l)ed, cancel(l)ed, cancel(l)ing］ vt. 取消; 终止

The game was cancelled because of the heavy rain. 比赛因为大雨被取消了。

(2) has been cancelled 是现在完成时的被动语态。

—Where is my cake? 我的蛋糕在哪里？

—Oh, it has been eaten by your brother. 哦，它被你的弟弟吃了。

4. Neither do I. 我也不（喜欢）。

  neither adv. 也不，放在句首, 用部分倒装，表示前面否定的内容也适用于另一个人或物, 可用nor 替换。

  If you do not go, neither shall I. 如果你不去，我也不去。

  —I don’t like meat. 我不喜欢吃肉。

  —Neither do I. (=I don’t like it, either.) 我也不喜欢。

  —He didn’t go to the park last Sunday. 他上周日没去公园。

  —Neither did his sister.(=His sister didn’t go there, either.)

他的妹妹也没去。

  —Jim hasn’t been to Beijing. 吉姆没有去过北京。

  —Neither has Lily. (=Lily hasn’t been to Beijing, either.) 莉莉也没去过。

Step 6  Study skills

1. Tell them how to read a play. While reading the play, give them some explanation about it.

A play has several parts not found in other kinds of literature. This is how an excerpt of a play looks.

Most plays have three to five acts.

Each act is divided into “scenes”.

The setting shows when and where each scene happens.

The characters in a scene will be introduced first.

Words in brackets tell what the characters are doing, and how the characters are acting or speaking.

This is what the characters are saying to each other.

2. Read the excerpt of a play. Answer the questions.

  (1) Where does this scene take place?

(2) Which month is it?   

(3) What is Miss Prism sitting under?

(4) What is Cecily doing?   

(5) Why does Miss Prism call Cecily?

Answers: (1) It takes place in a garden behind a house.

(2) In July.

(3) Miss Prism is sitting under a large tree.

(4) Cecily is watering flowers.

  (5) Because Miss Prism is going to give Cecily a German lesson.
