My pen friend in the USA has not replied to my last three letters.
reply: 既可用作名词,也可以用作_______,意思是________,与answer同义.
但是answer 用法比较广泛,可指口说或笔写的答复,它是及物动词,可以带宾语。Reply指较正式的,经过考虑后的答复,它是不及物动词,不可以直接跟宾语。只有加上介词“_______“后,才可以跟宾语。如:
“reply to (sb. /sth. )”表示“对……作出回答”。
务必尽快答复我。
