设计说明 首先复习Spud Webb的相关知识,然后用图片来介绍Anne Frank,由此导入新课;学习Anne Frank的生平简历、她的日记,以及第二次世界大战的相关知识。在学生知晓了此类内容之后,进入书本上的听力内容。根据听力来完成一系列的任务,再根据此内容展开说的练习,让学生谈论战争给人类带来的影响,并发表自己的看法。最后利用练习来复习巩固本节课知识。 教学目标 通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 (1)掌握单词和短语:record, symbol, victory, spirit, Jew, Nazi, German, thought, survive, admire, courage, break out, go into hiding, die of/from, in fear of one’s life。 (2)掌握前缀、后缀以及合成词的构词法。 2.能力目标 (1)了解战争带来的危害。 (2)根据时间线索简述一个人的人生经历。 (3)以战争为话题,给出自己的观点。 (4)训练学生听说的技能,逐步掌握听力技巧。 3.情感目标 通过各种形式的活动,培养学生团结协作的精神,激发他们学习英语的兴趣并增强他们的自信心。 重点难点 重点:(1)学习单词和短语,并能灵活使用。 (2)听懂关于战争和人生经历的文章,学会根据战争话题谈论自己的观点。 难点:灵活使用生词和短语,谈论自己的观点。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片;活动A1、A2、B的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Talk about Spud Webb. Describe his life experiences. Step 2 Presentation 1. Show them a picture of Anne Frank and some information about the girl. Present some new words while describing her. Born: June 1929 Died: March 1945 Nationality: German Book: The Diary of a Young Girl 《安妮日记》 2. Present some new words. Step 3 Listen and practice 1. Do A1. (1) Read the sentences and try to understand each of them. At the same time, guess the missing words. (2) Listen to the tape twice and complete the missing words. After that, check the answers. Answers: (1) children (2) 72 million (3) 1947 (4) 67 3. Listen to A2 twice and complete the timeline about Anne Frank. Then check the answers. Answers: (1) Germany (2) office (3) mother (4) sister (5) father 4. Finish A3. Then check the answers. Answers: (1) Germany (2) Jews (3) July 1942 (4) office (5) August 1944 (6) mother (7) illness (8) 1947 (9) 67 5. Imagine the life of Anne Frank during the war. Read one of the pages from Anne’s diary. Never to be able to go outdoors… never to breathe fresh air… never to run and shout and jump… Step 4 Speak up 1. Ask students to listen to the tape and answer the questions: (1) How old was the boy in the book I Am David ? (2) What is the story about? (3) What is the name of the book that Millie mentioned? (4) What does Simon admire? (5) What does Millie hope? 2. Check the answers and give them some relevant explanation. Answers: (1) He was 12 years old. (2) It’s about the boy’s journey to Copenhagen after he got away from a Nazi Camp. (3) A Small Free Kiss in the Dark. (4) He admires those children for their courage. (5) She hopes war never happens again. 3. Listen and read the dialogue in pairs. 4. Act it out. Step 5 Language points 1. World War Ⅱ broke out in Europe in 1939 and ended in 1945. 第二次世界大战于1939年在欧洲爆发,1945年结束。 break out 意为“ (战争、火灾等不愉快事件)突然发生,爆发”。是不及物动词短语,不能带宾语,也不能用于被动语态。 A big fire broke out during the night. 夜间突然发生了一场大火。 Do you know when World War I broke out? 你知道第一次世界大战是什么时候爆发的吗? 2. her father had her diary published他的父亲将她的日记出版 have something done 意为“使/让某事物被……”。 My computer doesn’t work. I will have it repaired this afternoon. 我的电脑坏了,我下午要找人修。 I had my hair cut last Saturday. 我上周六理了发。 3. In her diary, Anne wrote down her thoughts, her feelings, her hopes and her dreams for the future. 在她的日记里,安妮写下了她的想法、她的情感、她的希望和她对未来的梦想。 write down意为“写下,记下”。write down为“动词+副词”型短语,宾语为代词时,应将代词放在write和down之间。 Can you write down your phone number here? 你能把你的电话号码写在这儿吗? Here is Lucy’s new address. Please write it down. 这是露西的新地址。请把它写下来。 Step 6 Study skills 1. Explain how to guess the meanings of some words by the way they are formed. (1) Sometimes a suffix changes a word’s part of speech, but the meaning remains almost the same. Thus, if you know the meaning of the root word, you can guess the meaning of the word. ·The girl is terribly ill. We all feel sad about her illness. ·The boy is full of energy every day. He is energetic. ·Be careful. You must do everything carefully. (2) Sometimes a prefix changes the meaning of a word. ·The girl is lucky enough to get a ticket. But I am unlucky. (3) Sometimes a suffix changes the meaning of a word. ·The dictionary is very useful. We can make full use of it. But that book is useless. (4) Sometimes two words come together to form a compound word. country+side—countryside home+town—hometown (5) Some compounds have a hyphen(-). hard+working—hard-working 2. Do the exercises.
