    Writing: The Lis new flat

    设计说明

    给学生一张房产图,让学生就图中的信息提问,回顾方位的表达。通过看李先生家的公寓图,提问问题,让学生观察图片、独立思考。向学生展示李先生家之前的公寓图和现在的公寓图,让他们注意观察并谈论不同,激发学生的探索欲望。结合图片完成短文,教会学生读图并提取有效信息。呈现课本中的地图部分,让学生读地图完成句子,强化方位及交通方式的表达。接下来,展示本的新卧室,通过听录音及看图完成对话的活动,加强方位介词(短语)的教学。设置开放性活动:让学生画自己的卧室图并写一段短文进行描述,积极引导语言输入,培养学生的英语综合运用能力

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    学习本课节新词汇:sunshine;

    学习方位介词(短语)和地点的表达。

    2.能力目标

    能够结合介词(短语)表达处所方位进行写作

    3.情感目标

    使学生进一步从方位的角度认识事物,更全面地感知和体验周围的事物,发展空间观念。

    重点难点

    重点学习方位介词(短语)的表达

    难点能够结合介词(短语)表达处所方位,写文章描述

    教学准备

    PPT课件;有关房地产的图片

    授课时数

    教学过程

    Step 1 Revision

    Pair work.

    1. Show the students a picture.

     

    2. Tell them to talk about this estate like this:

    S1: Where is Block 1?

    S2: It’s behind the garden, between the school and Block 2.

    S1: Where is Block 1?

    S2: It’s near/next to/on/in front of/opposite/betweenand

    3. Ask some pairs to present their dialogue.

     

    Step 2 Look and say

    1. This is the new flat of the Lis. Ask the students to answer the questions according to the picture.

    (1) How many rooms are there in their new flat?

    (2) How many bedrooms are there?

    (3) Whose bedroom is the biggest?

    (4) Whose bedroom is the smallest?

    2. They can work in pairs if they have difficulty in answering the questions.

    3. Check the answers.

    Answers:

    (1) There are seven rooms.

    (2) Three.

    (3) Mr and Mrs Lis bedroom.

    (4) Kitty’s bedroom.

     

    Step 3 Find the differences

    1. Show the two floor plans of the Lis new and old flats.

    2. Ask the students to find the differences. They can start like this:

    The new flat has more rooms than the old one

    3. Ask some students to say their findings.

     

    Step 4 Read and complete

    1. Ask the students to read the following passage first. Tell them to refer to the floor plans of the new and old flats.

      The new flat has one _______, three _______, one _______, two _______ and one _______. The old flat has one _______, three _______, one _______ and one _______. The new flat has _______ rooms than the old one. The living room in the old flat is _______ than the one in the new flat. The bedrooms in the new flat are _______ than the ones in the old flat.

    2. Select some students to say their answers.

    3. Check the answers.

    Answers: living room; bedrooms; kitchen; bathrooms; balcony; living room; bedrooms; kitchen; bathroom; more; smaller; bigger

    4. Ask individual students to read a sentence each.

     

    Step 5 Read the map

    1. Get the students to read the map on page 38.

    2. They complete the sentences according to the map.

    3. Check the answers.

    Answers: near; far from; bus; underground

    4. Ask individual students to read the completed paragraph.

     

    Step 6 Write and say

    1. Play the recording. Tell the students that Tom is asking Ben about his new bedroom.

    2. Help Ben complete the paragraph with the help of the picture.

    It’s a big room with one big window. The big window is  (1)  my desk. There’s a computer  (2)  my desk. I put a plant  (3)  my desk. My bed is  (4)  the desk. There are some shelves and some cupboards. The shelves are  (5)  the bed. There’s a beautiful rug  (6)  the floor. It’s  (7)  my bed and one of the cupboards. There are two funny pictures  (8)  the wall, too.

    3. Check the answers.

    Answers:

    (1) in front of (2) on (3) next to (4) near (5) opposite  (6) on

    (7) between (8) on

    4. Ask them to look at the picture again and tell about his room in their own words.

     

    Step 7 Draw and write

    1. Ask the students to draw a picture of his/her bedroom. Then write about the things in it.

    2. Give them some useful expressions: near/next to/on/opposite/ between and /in front of

    3. Let some students share their writing.

    4. One possible version.

    My bedroom is very big. There is a big bed. Its near the door. Ive got shelves, too. I can put a lot of books on them. There is a computer. Its on my desk. They are next to the shelves. My room is very bright. There are three windows.

     

    Step 8 Language points

    There are two funny pictures on the wall, too.在墙上还有两张有趣的图片。

    on the wall 在墙上

    指地图、画像、图片贴在墙面上。

    There is a big picture on the wall. 在墙上有一张大图片。

    【拓展】in the wall在墙上

    指窗户、洞、钉子等在墙上。

    The window in the wall is clean. 在墙上的那扇窗户很干净。

     

    Step 9 Homework

    写一篇英语作文,描理想的卧室。

    提示:1. What things/furniture may you need?

    2. Where do you put them?

    3. What may the bedroom be like?

I put a plant on my cupboard. Theres a beautiful rug on the floor. Its in front of the bed. There are two funny pictures on the wall.

    Its wonderful. I like it very much. Do you like it?
