| 1. Look and spell (1) Show a picture of a flat to students and tell them it is my old flat. There are some spelling mistakes of the words in the picture. Ask students to spell the words correctly. While-task procedure
| Draw a square and tell them: next to, in, between, on, opposite… 1. Look and say (1) Ask students to act as Mr and Mrs Li, and make a dialogue by using the given phrases and sentence structures. 3 big bedrooms 1 big kitchen 2 bathrooms 1 balcony in the suburbs What kind of … I’d like… (2) Ask students to act as Mr Li and Ben, and make a dialogue by using the given phrases. 1 big window near an underground station (3) Ask students to act as Mr Li and Kitty, and make a dialogue by using the given phrases. 1 big window far away from busy roads.
2. Read and complete (1) Show students the picture on p36 and ask them where Mr Li is. (2) Ask students to do soft reading first and try to complete Mr Li’s sentences according to what they have learnt in ‘Look and read’ (3) Ask students to listen to the recording and repeat the dialogue on p36 sentence by sentence.
3. Act it out Ask students to work in pairs and act out the dialogue creatively. |

| 1. Listen and tick Ask students to listen to a dialogue carefully and tick what Anna wants in her neibourhood.
2. Think and say Tell students that I want to buy a new flat and what I would like about the new flat. I’d like to buy a new flat. I’d like a flat near the underground station or bus station. And I like shopping. There are five people in my family. I’d like a big bedroom. And my mum loves cooking. I’d prefer a cheap house. Ask them to act as the estate agents and try to find an ideal flat for me by using the brochures of different estate agencies.
