    Reading: Different people and different jobs

    设计说明

      让学生结对问答,交流有关职业的事情,由此导入新课。结合图片归总生词、短语,集中讲解,为后面的学习做好铺垫。通过小组讨论有关事故的问题,鼓励学生思考并积极参与小组学习。处理课本中的故事,包括排序、填写正确的职业名称以及详读回答问题等,通过一系列活动,加深学生对文章的理解。另外,通过设置爱护动物协会与本的对话,让学生开动脑筋思考并完成任务。对重点的生词、短语进行讲解,扫除学习障碍。对课文中出现的一般过去时进行必要的解读,让学生领会时态的用法。最后,设置练习,巩固所学内容。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    学习本课节新词汇:accident, towards, knock down, catch fire, bothand..., motorcyclist, hurt, run away, broken, arm, engine, fire engine, scene, carry

    能够运用一般过去时描述过去的事情。

    2.能力目标

    能够读懂有关事故的文章;能向他人介绍自己所见或所听到的交通事故。

    3.情感目标

    引导学生遵守交通规则,珍惜生命,远离危险。

    重点学习本课节新词汇accident, towards, knock down, catch fire, bothand..., motorcyclist, hurt, run away, broken, arm, engine, fire engine, scene, carry; 能够运用一般过去时描述过去的事情

    难点能够读懂有关事故的文章;能向他人介绍自己所见或所听到的交通事故

    教学准备

    PPT课件;活动Read的录音,有关摩托人撞人的图片、消防车灭火的图片、两个人抬物品的图片、受伤的胳膊的图片以及逃跑的图片等

    教学过程

    Step 1 Revision

    1. Give the students some information about different people’s jobs.

    3. Let some pairs to talk in front of the class.

     

    Step 2 Look and learn

    Present some new words by showing some pictures: accident, towards, knock down, catch fire, bothand..., motorcyclist, hurt, run away, broken, arm, engine, fire engine, scene, carry.

    accident n. (交通)事故 motorcyclist n.骑摩托车的人  towards prep. 朝着   knock down撞倒  hurt adj. 受伤的    scene n. 现场

    catch fire着火   engine n.发动机;引擎  fire engine n.消防车  

    bothand……两者都    carry v. 搬;扛

    arm n. 胳膊 broken adj. 伤残的

    run away 逃跑

     

    Step 3 Discussion

    1. Ask the students to discuss in groups.

    (1) Where do you sometimes see accidents?

    (2) Who comes to help?

    (3) Where do people who are hurt go?

    (4) What takes them there?

    2. Let some groups talk in front of the class and share their ideas.

     

    Step 4 Look and rearrange

    1. Show the pictures of Bens accident.

    2. In pairs, let students discuss the order of the pictures. Ask: Which is the first picture? etc. Let them number the pictures in order.

    3. Select some pairs to share their answers.

    4. Check the answers.

    Step 5 Listen and read

    Activity 1

    1. Play the recording. Let the students listen and write the names of the correct jobs.

    One day, when Ben was walking with Sam in the street, a motorcycle came towards Ben and knocked him down. The motorcycle caught fire. Both Ben and the motorcyclist were hurt. Sam ran away because he was afraid.

    First, a (1)     and a (2)     arrived at the scene of the accident. They called a fire engine and an ambulance.

    Next, the (3)     stopped the traffic to let the fire engine come quickly to the scene.

    Then two (4)     arrived and carried Ben and the motorcyclist into the ambulance. They drove quickly to the hospital.

    Finally, Ben and the motorcyclist arrived at the hospital. A (5)     and a (6)     took care of them immediately. Ben had a broken arm and the motorcyclist had a broken leg.

    Two days later, an SPCA (7)     found Sam and took him home. Ben was very happy.

    2. Check the answers.

    Activity 2

    Select individual students to read the story according to the pictures in the correct order.

    1. Let the students read the story again and answer the following questions.

    (2) What happened to the motorcycle?

    (3) Who was hurt?

    (4) What did Sam do?

    (5) Why did Sam run away?

    (6) Who went to the scene of the accident first?

    (7) What did the policeman and policewoman call?

    (8) Who stopped the traffic?

    (9) Why did the policeman stop the traffic?

    (10) Who arrived then?

    (11) What did the ambulance workers do?

    (12) Where did the ambulance workers go?

    (13) Who took care of Ben and the motorcyclist?

    (14) What was wrong with Ben and the motorcyclist?

    (15) Who found Sam? When?

    2. Ask students to discuss in groups if necessary.

    3. Check the answers together.

    Answers:

    (1) A motorcycle knocked him down.

    (2) It caught fire.

    (3) Both Ben and the motorcyclist were hurt.

    (4) He ran away.

    (5) Because he was afraid.

    (6) A policeman and a policewoman went there first.

    (7) They called a fire engine and an ambulance.

    (8) The policeman stopped the traffic.

    (9) Because he wanted to let the fire engine come quickly to the scene.

    (10) Two ambulance workers arrived.

    (11) They carried Ben and the motorcyclist into the ambulance and drove quickly.

    (12) They went to the hospital.

    (13) A doctor and a nurse took care of them.

    (14) Ben had a broken arm and the motorcyclist had a broken leg.

    (15) Two days later, an SPCA officer found Sam.

    4. Give the students some time to read the story silently. In pairs, let they take turns to ask a question about the story.

     

    Step 7 Write

    1. Let the students complete the dialogue between an SPCA officer and Ben.

    A: Hello, sir! I’m an SPCA officer. Is this your dog?

    B: Oh, yes! This is Sam, my Sam!

    A: Sam is very lovely, isn’t he? But why did you leave him in the street?

    B: Oh, it was a long story! The day before yesterday, when I was (1)    , a motorcycle (2)    .

    A: How terrible! The poor animal must be very afraid at that scene!

    B: Yes, he ran away, and I called the police immediately. Luckily, (3)    . They (4)     and (5)    .

    A: What happened then?

    B: Then …

    A: Did they drive quickly?

    B: (6)    . And after we arrived at the hospital, (7)    .

    A: Were you hurt seriously?

    B: Yes. I had a (8)    . But I’m lucky to meet so many helpful people, including (包括) you! Thank you so much!

    2. Get some students to share their answers.

    3. Check the possible answers together.

    Step 8 Language points

    1. One day, when Ben was walking with Sam in the street, a motorcycle came towards Ben and knocked him down.

    一天,本牵着萨姆走在街上,一辆摩托车朝他冲过来,把他撞倒了。

    1towards〔介词〕朝着;向着

    She is walking towards the park.她正朝公园走去。

    2knock down撞倒

    The girl was knocked down by a bus.那个女孩被一辆公共汽车撞倒了。

    2. Both Ben and the motorcyclist were hurt.本和骑摩托车的人都受了伤。

    1bothand……两者都;既……又……

    一般用来连接两个并列成分,可以连接名词、代词、形容词、动词和介词短语等。

    Both Tom and Lucy will go to the party. 汤姆和露西都将去参加聚会。

    【注意】bothand连接名词、代词作主语时,谓语动词要用复数形式。

    Both my parents and I feel excited about the program.

    我和我的父母都对这个节目感到很兴奋。

    2hurt ①〔形容词〕受伤的

    My leg was hurt.我的腿受伤了。

    They can get hurt easily.他们很容易受伤。

    ②〔动词〕伤害

    Did you hurt your arm?你伤着胳膊了吗

    3. Sam ran away because he was afraid.萨姆跑了,因为他害怕。

    run away 逃跑

    Dont run away!别逃跑!

    4. Then two ambulance workers arrived and carried Ben and the motorcyclist into the ambulance.

    后来,两位急救人员到达,把本和骑摩托车的人抬进了救护车。

    carry〔动词〕搬;扛;抱;运送

    The bag is heavy. Can you carry it for me?

    Step 9 Grammar

    一般过去时

    1.用法:(1)表示过去某个时间里发生的动作或存在的状态,常和表示过去的时间状语连用。(2)表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。

    2. 构成

    肯定句:主语+动词过去式+其他.

    The plane took off a moment ago.飞机刚才起飞了。

    否定句:主语+didnt+动词原形+其他.

    He didn’t work in the factory.他不在这家工厂工作。

    一般疑问句:Did +主语+动词原形+其他?

    Did you go to the party?你去参加聚会了吗

    特殊疑问句:疑问词+did+主语+动词原形+其他?

    When did you visit him?你什么时候拜访的他

    3.动词过去式的变化规律:
