Step 2: Listening 2a&2b&2c
- Match the sentences with the pictures. Write each number in the box.
- Listen and fill in the blanks with the words in the box.
- Check the answers.

Step 3. Language points
- pay 此处用作名词, 作定语修饰phone。pay phone 意为“付费电话”。
pay...用作动词, 意为“付费”, 其用法如下:pay sb. 付钱给某人;pay... for sb.买某物付……钱
2.across from是固定短语,可用作定语, 其后接表示地点的名词或代词, 意为 “在……对面的”, 相当于opposite 或on the other side of。 across from还可放在be 动词后面, 表示“在……的对面”。
3.next to方位介词短语,意为“在……近旁;紧邻”,相当于beside,常表示空间位置。
4.辨析next to与near的区别 从空间讲near 只表示“在……附近”;而next to有“紧挨着”之意;next to比near靠得更近。
between...and...between...and... 是介词短语, 连接两个并列成分, 既可以表示地点的概念, 也可以表示时间的概念。
辨析:between 与among
6.front 用作名词, 意为“前面”, 其反义词是back。the front of 意为“……的前面”。

Step 4. Work on 2d
Role-play the conversation.
First,let students listen to tape to correct their pronunciation.
Do a fast reading game.Choose two students to read the passage simultaneously.The faster one is the winner.Teacher can add points to him or his team.

Step 5. Language points
Now,Let`s focus on the language points.
(1).excuse me 劳驾,对不起回答Excuse me. 时,不可说:I'll excuse you.(我将原谅你。)应该说:Never mind./ That's all right.没关系。或Certainly.当然。
(2).far from相当于far away from,通常不与具体数字连用,若出现具体数字,常用away from。
far from的反义词为near,意为“离……近”。
