Step 2 Ask students to look at the map and answer the questions in 3a.

Step 3 Ask students to look at the map and write the sentences in 3b.

Step 4 Ask students to finish the task in 3c. Learn the sentences pattern:

There be 句型常用来表示客观存在，意为“某地/某时有某物/某人 ”

1. 肯定句句型结构：There be（is/are）＋某物/某人＋某地/某时。

There be句型中

is, are的选择取决于“某物/某人”的单复数，即单数可数名词或不可数名词时用is, 复数可数名词时用are。

某物/人有多个时，谓语动词be要和最靠近它的那个名词的数保持一致，即就近原则。

2. There be 句型否定句句型结构1：

There be（is/are）＋not＋某物/某人＋某地/某时

注意：原句中如有some一词，也应改为any.

There be 句型否定句句型结构2：在be动词后加no

There is no + 单数可数名词/不可数名词

There are no + 复数可数名词

3. 一般疑问句型：Be（Is/Are）there＋某物/某人＋某地/某时？
4. 特殊疑问句型：There be 句型的特殊疑问句主要有how many, how much做引导词两种情况：How many 提问可数名词的数量； How much 提问不可数名词的数量
5. There be句型表示 “存在有”, have\has表示 “拥有”、 “所有”, 两者不能同时使用。

Step 5 Ask students to complete the sentences:

He has a tape-recorder.   

Step 6 Ask students to fill in the blanks.
