Ⅰ.Material analysis
本节课的主要活动为1a和2a。
本节课通过文章的形式具体介绍有关地震的知识以及在地震中如何保护自己。本篇文章以How to Protect Yourself in the Earthquake为题,分别对地震知识进行介绍,在室内外对付地震的方法及余震的介绍,最后紧扣主题加入情感教育。要求学生通过本篇文章,了解地震知识,能够正确应对自然灾害,并能够模仿作者的写作方式,根据已有经验,结合本课知识,写出有关在其它自然灾害面前如何保护自己的文章。这篇阅读文章较长,在阅读练习的时候,建议教师先以讨论、游戏等方式,解决部分生词,扫清单词障碍。学生在理解文章大意的前提下进行拓展,写出在其它自然灾害面前如何保护自己的文章。
Ⅱ.Teaching aims

- 能根据音标正确读出以下单词的读音:middle, shake, check等。
- 能在游戏的帮助下快速记忆本课生词如:middle, shake, check等。
3. 能够熟练地应用形容词的比较级和最高级。
4. 能够用形容词的比较级和最高级谈论自然灾害的程度。
Skill aims:
1. 能基本听懂本课文本材料,能写出简单的介绍如何在发生自然灾害的时候保护自己的文章。
2. 能流利地和他人谈论在自然灾害中如何保护自己。
3. 能读懂介绍自然灾害的文章,以及相应的保护措施。
4. 能正确模仿本课课文,有条理地写出在自然灾害中如何保护自己的措施。
Emotional aims:
1. 通过对本课的学习,学生能够明白:遇到困难应该沉着冷静。
2. 在自己的能力范围之内,帮助别人。

Part2 Presentation (8minutes) | 1.Students read 1a. The first and last paragraphs can help them find the main idea of the passage.Underline the new words.
2.Students find the new words in passages and guess the meanings in the sentences.
3.Students check their answers by changing the new words into their meanings. Then check the answers in groups.
4.Students read the new words after the tape. Pay attention to the pronunciation.
5.Students read 1a again. They can find that the whole passage is talking about the Internet.
6.Students read 1a carefully. They can find the answers in paragraphs 2 and 3.
7.Student listen and read. ① Students read each sentence after the recording, imitating the pronunciation and the intonation. ②Students try to follow the speed. ③Students read 1a in pairs, trying to read correctly and fluently.There are A, B, C three pairs.
8.Students listen carefully and take notes.
| 1.Finish 1a.Ask students to read 1a, then get the main idea of the passage and underline the new words: “change, side, true, perfect”.
2.Finish 1b.Show 1b to students and give them 2 minutes to finish 1b.
3.Advise students to change the words into their meanings in the passage. Ask students to check whether their answers are right or wrong.
4.Teach the new words.
5.Give students 2 minutes to read the passage again. And then ask students to give it a good title.
6.Show 1d to students. Then ask students to read 1a carefully and fill in the table.
7.Teacher ask students to listen and read 1a. ①Teacher plays the recording in 1a sentence by sentence. ②Teacher plays the recording without stopping. ③Teacher gives 1 or 2 minutes for the students to read 1a in pairs.
8.Teacher explains the key points.

5. Three students from one group come to the platform. Two students of them make a dialogue based on the information in 2a. The third student reports a passage based on their dialogue.

2. Ask students to make a dialogue with the help of the five questions. Remind students to pay attention to the fifth question: Are you sure the Internet is good for us?
3.Invite students to practice the dialogue in class. Remind students to pay attention to the tone.
4.Finish 2b.Ask students to write a short passage based on the result of the interview in 2a.
5.The teacher invites students to show their works. Make sure everyone knows the rules.
6.Invite another group to show their works. Remind students: After an interview, you often need to write down the information in the form of a passage. Doing this can help you remember the information you interviewed.
