STEP 1 Talking abut pictures
Shw pictures f different kinds f bad weather and disasters. Get the students t talk abut the results f them. They can als talk abut what ther peple d t help.
(It will be better if the teacher can cllect sme reprts n disasters r bad weather frm newspapers r magazines. In this step, the teacher may try t input mre infrmatin abut the disasters and help students t talk abut it.)
STEP 2 Listen t the tape
Explain that Sandy and Amy are talking abut a natural disaster. Invite them t listen t the tape and try t answer the questins.
With the help f these questins, it will be easier fr students t fcus n the key infrmatin e.g. in Britain, last week, heavy strm, thunder and lightening, terrible, schl caught fire, n ne was hurt, students n hliday. They will als help them t rganize their wn dialgue.

Get the students t read the dialgue alud. Direct the students attentin t the intnatin f different sentences. We use a rising tne fr general questins. We use falling tnes fr ‘wh-’ questins r statements.
Get the students t read the dialgue again. Pay special attentin t the intnatin patterns used here. Then give the students several minutes fr the students t practice and act.
