Brianna was just 12 years ld when her mther became severely ill, allwing her t knw what it was like t care fr smene else. Althugh many members f her family were nurses, taking care f her mm was what influenced her the mst and helped her decide t becme a nurse.
After she didn't get int UWEau Claire's nursing prgram the first tw times she applied, Brianna began explring ptential careers. She tk several business classes, but quickly realized that business wasn't the right fit fr her and her real passin was in nursing. Once, a yung schl by was caught in a fire accident in his schl and was assumed that he wuld nt live. His mther was tld that he was sure t die, fr the terrible fire had destryed the lwer half f his bdy. Even if he were t survive, he wuld be lame thrughut his life.
But the brave by did nt want t die nr did he want t be lame. Much t the amazement f the dctr, he did survive. But unfrtunately frm his waist dwn, he had n mtr ability. His thin legs just hung there, lifeless. Eventually he left the hspital. But his determinatin t walk was unshakable. At hme, when he was nt in bed, he had t stay in a wheelchair. One day, he threw himself frm the chair and pulled himself acrss the grass, dragging his legs behind him. He reached the fence, raised himself up and then began dragging himself alng the fence, firmly determined. He did this every day, with faith in himself that he wuld be able t walk unaided.
