设计说明 首先通过谈论Anne Frank来复习,引出对自己影响最大的人,导入新课,然后结合一些问题来讨论对自己影响最大的人的情况。阅读课本上的范文,弄懂文章大意后,讨论如何写类似的文章。再根据一些问题和相关的习惯用语提示,写出自己的文章。最后讲解几个知识点,完成巩固练习。 教学目标 通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词和短语:unusual, cell, cancer, surprise, research, death, to one’s surprise。 2.能力目标 (1)学习如何描述人物及其事迹。 (2)学会如何写对自己人生影响最大的人物。 (3)逐步掌握写作技巧,提升写作能力。 3.情感目标 通过学习,培养学生在成长过程中无论遇到什么困难都永不言弃的精神。 重点难点 重点:学会描述人物及其事迹,写对自己人生影响最大的人物。 难点:灵活使用生词和短语,学会写人物事迹。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Talk about Anne Frank. 2. Lead in the sentence: She influenced me most. Step 2 Presentation 1. Show the following questions. (1) Who has influenced you most? (2) What does he/she look like? (3) What is special about him/her? (4) What has he/she done? (5) What do you think of him/her? 2. Ask and answer in pairs. 3. Let some students share their stories with the class. Step 3 Practice 1. Read the passage on Page 60. Answer the following questions: (1) Who has influenced the author most? (2) How old is her father? (3) What is her father like? (4) What has her father done since 1990? (5) What does the author realize now? Answers: (1) Her father. (2) He is in his fifties. (3) He is kind and helpful. (4) He has donated blood many times. (5) She realizes that her father has a heart full of love. 2. Read the passage and fill in the form. Explain something.

Give them some useful expressions and words that they can use in the composition. … is the person who has influenced me most. … is in his/her twenties/ thirties/ forties/…. Ask them to write their own passages. 4. Show the composition and learn to check. Read it to each other. Step 5 Language points 1. My father is in his fifties. 我爸爸五十多岁了。 in one’s +整十数词的复数,表示“在某人几十多岁的时候”。 in one’s teens/ twenties/ thirties/ forties/fifties/ sixties/ seventies/ eighties/ nineties在某人十多岁/二十多岁/三十多岁/四十多岁/五十多岁/六十多岁/七十多岁/八十多岁/九十多岁时。 She was in her mid-twenties. 她有二十五六岁。 He was then in his late seventies. 他当时已经快八十岁了。 In his thirties, he left his hometown. 在三十多岁的时候,他离开了家乡。 2. To my surprise, he has decided to donate his body for medical research after his death. 令我惊讶的是,他已决定去世后捐献遗体供医学研究。 surprise此处是动词,意为“使……惊奇”;surprise还可作名词,意为“惊奇,诧异”;surprising是形容词,意为“令人惊讶的”,常用来修饰事物;surprised是形容词,意为“吃惊的,惊讶的”,常用来指人的感觉。 to one’s surprise意为“令某人吃惊的是”。 He was surprised to see me standing in front of him. 看到我站在他面前,他很吃惊。 When he saw the surprising photo, he said, “What a great surprise!” 他看到这张令人惊讶的照片时,他说:“真是令人惊讶啊!” Don’t look at me in surprise. 别那么惊讶地看着我。 To my surprise, he hasn’t finished his homework. 令我吃惊的是,他还没有完成家庭作业。 Step 6 Homework 1. Finish your article and share it with your classmates in your class. 2. Do the writing exercises in the workbook. 3. Preview Unit 5 on Page 64 and Page 65. 当堂达标 根据汉语提示完成单词。 1.
