    The emphasis f this perid will be placed n listening and speaking.There are altgether three texts fr the students t listen t in this perid:ne is in the Student's Bk and the ther tw are in the Wrkbk.The first ne(n Page 38,Listening and speaking)is abut three vlcanlgists talking abut their frightening experiences in their wrk life.While listening t the experiences fr a first time the students are asked t get sme specific infrmatin abut it and write their names under the pictures.While listening t the experiences fr a secnd time the students are asked t fill in the chart.While listening t the experiences fr a third time the students are asked t write the names f the persns beside the emtinal expressins they talked abut.At last the students are asked t think f r imagine a pwerful natural frce(such as an earthquake,fld,thunderstrm,typhn,tsunami)that they have experienced r heard.Tell their partners abut their experiences and hw they felt.
    The secnd ne(n Page 69,Listening)is abut a wman describing her experience during Cyclne Tracy when she was a yung girl.And the third ne(n Page 73,Listening Task)cntinues Sara's stry frm the time she gt nt the rf until she was rescued by a helicpter and taken t hspital.
