Teachers have always had t face the prblem f students cheating, whether in a public schl r a private schl, whether amng the lw-achieving students r ‘straight A' students. Why d students cheat?
The main reasn that students cheat is the high pressure frm family. Students want their parents r grandparents t feel prud f them, r at least nt t be disappinted in them. Anther main reasn is that it's likely t get the crrect answer rather than cnsidering student's abilities in schl. As a result, what students care mst is nly scres. In additin, sme students cheat simply because they're busy r lazy.
Cheating can help yu get ahead when it wrks and it is easy t d. The cheaters get gd grades withut spending much time studying. Sme peple think cheating makes difficult things seem easy. Cheating is a way fr them t win and get what they want nw. Hnr and dishnr are meaningless if they win. They easily see the advantages in cheating, but ften ignre the dangers in playing by their wn rules instead f sciety's.
Cheating successfully nce ften leads t cheating again and again. It can quickly becme a habit that turns int a lifestyle. Withut cheating , cheaters becme afraid f failure. That is t say, it prevents the student frm getting the chance t experience the achieving prcess. What's mre, student wh cheat may feel wrried abut getting caught, whether they are caught r nt. These kids may feel guilty r embarrassed. Research has shwn that nt being able t experience trying hard directly affects ne's self-cnfidence. Research has als shwn that lw self-esteem is the main cause f sadness.
S cheating is like using drugs——it feels gd at the mment but it has rather bad effects. The best way t teach ur students is t put cheating ut f their mind and lve learning truly, t help them experience the satisfactin that cmes frm the knwledge as well as the self-cnfidence. There's an ld saying that characters never win and winners never cheat. Kids wh dn't cheat are true winners. Because when they win, they d it hnestly.
