      One day we culd build huses ut f ld diapers. A team f scientists gathered recycled diapers. The team mixed the diapers int sand and cement (水泥). Then the team made a little huse. The scientists fund that recycled diapers culd take the place f a lt f the building materials. In May, the scientists reprted these findings in a scientific magazine.
      Using ld diapers wuld mean less rubbish. It culd als make hmes cheaper. Siswanti Zuraida is an envirnmental engineer. He and his team find slutins t envirnmental prblems that affect the health and safety f peple and the envirnment. Building materials are ften expensive and harmful t ur health. Scientists have tried t save csts with unusual materials. Diapers are made frm trees, cttn and plastic. Mst parts f diapers culd all be nice building materials.
      Zuraida and his team washed, dried and cut up the diapers. They made six different kinds f building materials. Each used different percent f diapers, cement, sand, rcks and water. They put them in a machine t test their lad-bearing (承重) ability. They fund ut hw much diaper waste they culd use. T much made the building materials weak. Next, the scientists built a small hme. It had tw bedrms and ne bathrm. Diapers culd make up 27 percent f the materials in the hme's lad-bearing structures (结构),parts f a building that help hld a lt f weight. Sme parts f hmes d nt have t hld a lt f weight. There, diapers culd be very helpful. They culd make up a lt f the building materials. But tall buildings need mre supprt. They wuld have less diaper materials in lad-bearing structures.
      Diapers cannt be used in real hmes yet. Cuntries have laws abut what can be used fr building. Cement, bricks and wd are allwed. But making them creates a lt f greenhuse air, such as CO2. Plus, picking ut diapers frm ther waste and cleaning them wuld take a lt f wrk. Diapers' plant-based parts can be used fr building. But scientists have t separate and then thrw away their plastic parts. This can be hard t d.

S, they live in tents that are made f animal hair. The tents are easy t put up and take dwn when they mve frm place t place. In a similar way, a grup f Mnglian peple f the Gbi Desert als live in tents rather than buildings. These hmes called "ger" hmes, are als made f animal hair, but they are rund instead f square like Beduin tents.
      Befre peple made the first tents, they lived in caves(洞穴). Sme peple in the suthern part f Spain live in caves tday, t! They call these cave hmes "cuebas". These caves keep the huse cl during the summer and warm during the winter.
      Anther type f hme is the "igl" used by the Inuit peple f Canada and Greenland. Igls are nrmally made f ice and snw. The igl prtects the peple frm the wind as well as keeps them warm. In fact, the temperature inside an igl can even reach 16℃ just frm bdy heat alne.
      The Bagaba peple f the Philippines used t live in what may be a childhd dream fr sme—a treehuse! These treehuses were built s that the peple culd watch fr enemies and prtect themselves frm wild and dangerus animals. In additin, the peple culd stay cl in their treehuses during the ht summer seasn.
