In Eurpe and the United States, many peple drink cffee and tea at temperatures arund 60degrees Celsius. And they ften add milk which lwers the temperature cnsiderably. Hwever,tea﹣drinkers in Iran and mate﹣drinkers in Suth America ften enjy their beverages at clser t 70degrees Celsius.
The researchers nte that Suth Americans nt nly drink their mate very ht,they als drink it thrugh a metal straw. This sends the scalding liquid directly int the thrat.
