21.(6分)S bitter a dark winter day in 1942 was n different frm any ther day in this cncentratin camp. I was almst dead, surviving frm day t day, since I was brught here with thusands f ther Jews. Each day, as mre disappeared, the hungry past seemed like a mere dream, and I sank deeper and deeper int despair.
Suddenly, I nticed a yung girl, n the ther side f the barbed wire, stpped and lked at me with sad eyes seeming t say that she understd. Then she reached int her pcket, and pulled ut a red apple. She lked cautiusly t the left and the right and then with smile f triumph quickly threw the apple ver the fence. I ran t pick it up, hlding it in my trembling frzen fingers. Her eyes twinkled. In my wrld f death this apple was an expressin f life, f lve.
She came at the same time t the spt the next day. And again she brught me an apple flying it ver the fence with that same sweet smile. Fr seven mnths we met like this. Smetimes we exchanged a few wrds, smetimes just an apple. But ne day I culd barely speak as I said what must be said: “Dn' t bring me an apple tmrrw. I am being sent t anther camp.” Turning befre I lst all my cntrl, I run away and I culdn't stand lking back.
With mnths passing and nightmares cntinuing, the memry f this girl sustained me thrugh the hpelessness. Over and ver in my mind, I saw her face, her kind eyes, I heard her gentle wrds, I tasted thse apples. And then the war ended and I was freed. But I cannt bear thinking that he was killed, and I try t remember him as he was fr thse mnths we were given tgether.”
With my heart punding s ludly, I lked directly at Rma and asked, “And did he tell yu nt t bring an apple tmrrw because he was sent t anther camp?”
“Hw n earth culd yu pssibly knw that?”
I tk her hands in mine and answered, “Because I was that by, Rma.”
Fr many mments, there was nly silence. We culd nt take ur eyes frm each ther, behind which, as the veils f time lifted, we recgnized the sul. Finally, I said, “Rma, I dn' t ever want t be separated frm yu again. Nw I am free, and I want t be tgether with yu frever. Dear, will yu marry me?” I saw the same twinkle in her eyes that I used t see as Rma said yes.

23.(8分) The human beings seem t be facing a crisis (危机). After ur best G players were defeated ne by ne by the artificial intelligence (AI) AlphaG, we lst ur pride f being at the tp f the intelligence chain. And in Octber, when Saudi Arabia gave citizenship t a rbt named Sphia, anther privilege f being human was taken away. It lks like everything that separates humans and AI is at risk fight nw.
But we keep hping that instead f "everything", there's still smething left in us that makes us irreplaceable.
T Ha Jingfang, winner f the 2016 Hug Award fr Best Nvelette, that "smething" is ur cnsciusness. "AlphaG is intelligent in a certain way, but nt intelligent enugh t ask the imprtant questins -- D I like playing G? D I want t play G tday? Why d I have t play G when yu tell me t?" she nce said. In ther wrds, cmputer prgrams dn't have a chice t say "n". They prbably dn't even knw what a "chice" is -- all they ever d is calculate.
And t He Huaihng, a philsphy (哲学) prfessr at Peking University, imaginatin and creativity are als what make us special. "A machine culdn't have cme up with the thery f gravity just because it was hit by a falling apple", he said. "It's human imaginatin that cnnects what seem t be cmpletely randm and irrelevant cncepts, smething that a machine--which wrks by fixed rules nly--can't d, at least fr nw."
This is why BBC reprter Viktr Mayer-Schnberger suggested that instead f fcusing n hw cmputers have vershadwed us n calculating abilities than humans, we shuld prbably "cnsider ur quality at a different end f the spectrum (光谱):creativity, riginality (原创性), even plain illgical craziness, instead f hard-nsed (顽固的) lgic", he wrte.
S maybe in the future, as artificial intelligence becmes even mre intelligent, humans and A1will learn t use each ther's talents fr gd. If AI can handle the bring tasks like calculating and driving fr us, we'll have mre time t create, think, and be busy with "being human".
1、What can we learn abut AlphaG, accrding t Ha Jingfang? ______
A.It will be taught t say n in the future.
B.It will be mre intelligent than humans ne day.
C.It has difficulty answering persnal questins.
D.It is unable t think independently as humans d.
2、What des He Huaihng believe is unique t humans? ______
      A.Intelligence. B.Originality.
C.The ability t make rules. D.The ability t make chices.
3、What des the underlined wrd "vershadwed" in paragraph 5 prbably mean? ______
      A.Cmpeted with B.Taken cntrl f
      C.Been mre successful than D.Influenced
4、What culd be the future f AI accrding t the authr? ______
A.It will be used t help humans, rather than cmpete with us.
B.It may develp creativity besides better lgical thinking.
C.It might be very dangerus t humans in different fields.
D.It will be applied t prvide driving service fr humans.

The discvery verturns a decadesld thery in the archaelgical cmmunity that Dead Sea Scrlls were nly fund in certain caves at the Qumran cliffs, which are managed by Israel in the West Bank. Until nw, it was accepted that Dead Sea Scrlls were fund nly in 11 caves at Qumran, but the teams believed there was n dubt this was the 12th cave.
Pttery fragments, brken scrll strage jars and their lids—even nelithic flint(新石器时代燧石) tls and arrwheads—littered the cave’s entrance and farther in, there appeared t be a cavein(塌陷). After a bit f wrk f digging, the team made a mnumental find: an unbrken strage jar with a scrll. It was rushed t Hebrew University's cnservatin lab, where it was unflded in a prtected envirnment. It had n writing; it was placed in the jar t prepare it fr writing.
But the effrt was nt in vain. Scientists sn discvered the cavein was intentinal and it hid a tunnel abut 1620 feet in length. At sme pint hidden in the tunnel, the team fund a few brken strage jars with the lid. They als fund the clth cverings and the leather strap that bund the scrlls the jars nce held. The team thught rbbers came int the tunnel, tk the scrlls, r even pened the scrlls and left everything arund, the textiles, the pttery.
Over the last few years, researchers have believed Dead Sea Scrll fragments made their way nt the antique black market, leading authrities and researchers t start the task f surveying all the caves at Qumran in the Judean desert.
This was likely just the first in a series f Dead Sea Scrll discveries and therefre the team have hundreds f caves and many years t g, making a big prject, a huge peratin but they are very upbeat because after 60 years peple still find new caves with materials that cast new light n the scrlls.
