      During the ht and dry summer last year, my family experienced the first natural disaster f ur lives. We were hiking in the muntains when lightning suddenly flashed acrss the sky. The sky gt darker and darker, and a strng smell f smke filled the air. And then we realized that we weren’t lking at cluds—it was thick, black smke! There was a wildfire! “Lk!” my brther shuted in panic, pinting at the flames in the distance. “I can see the fire ver there!” I quickly had my phne ut, my hands shaking, and was ready t call fr help. My dad quickly lked arund, his face pale with fear, and said, “Let’s mve away frm the fire right nw.” My sister was hlding my hand tightly, her vice trembling, and saying, “It’s kay, just keep ging. We’ll be safe sn.” Just then, we saw a red fire truck rushing up the muntain and heard smene calling ludly, “Over here!” A firefighter was standing n the truck, waving wildly and shuting, “Fllw me! Yu’ll be safe this way!” We fllwed his directin and ran twards the truck, finally ut f danger.
      Last winter, my family had a terrifying experience. It started ne evening while we were enjying a quiet night at hme. My parents were watching TV while my brther was ding his hmewrk. I, n the ther hand, was glued t my bedrm windw. Thick snw was falling and the wrld utside was grwing whiter and whiter. “Lk!” I shuted, pinting at the snw utside. “The snw is getting s deep!” My brther lked up frm his hmewrk and said, “The wind is blwing s hard. The tree utside ur huse is bending!” My dad walked t the windw, his face serius, and said, “Let’s mve away frm the windw. This is a heavy snwstrm.” My mm brught us ht cca and said, “Stay calm, kids. We’ll be safe inside.” Just then, we heard a lud crash. A big tree fell dwn in ur yard. We held each ther’s hands, feeling a little scared, but we knew we were tgether and safe.
