What: This text belngs t the thematic theme f“human and sciety—art”. It narrates the life stry f Beethven, fcusing n the creatin and premiere f Symphny N.9 in D Minr.
Hw: This text is extracted frm a bigraphy and rganized in time rder.The first paragraph is a brief intrductin f Beethven, including his life and achievements.The rest f the text presents the artistic charm f Symphny N.9 in D Minr thrugh the cmparisn and changes in the emtins. When finishing the symphny, Beethven “sat back at his chair and smiled”, “prudly signed his name, tried t imagine ...”, which shws Beethven’s jy and pride at the cmpletin f the cmpsitin. Befre the perfrmance, “tense atmsphere at the back stage” and “Beethven was afraid that ...” shw hw Beethven cared abut his music. During the perfrmance, “the audience applaud ludly”,”Beethven waved his arms wildly”,”Umlauf skillfully guided the rchestra” and “the audience jumped t their feet ...” shw Beethven’s dedicatin and the audience’s immersin. After the perfrmance, “gt a ” further stresses the success f the perfrmance and the talent f Beethven.
Why: By learning this text, students will fully experience the charm f music and admire musical geniuses like Beethven, wh, despite being deaf, created ne f the greatest wrks in the wrld. Besides, students will have a better understanding f the precius qualities and attitudes f Beethven like his dedicatin t music and perseverance facing setbacks in life.

The target students are Senir One students frm an average class. The students’ English learning situatin is as fllws.
1. In the previus part f this unit, the students appreciated tw main art frms,
painting and Peking Opera, and were full f strng interest in learning mre abut the theme f art. They realized the imprtance f art fr their wn develpment
and life.
2.The sub theme f this text is abut music, and the prtagnist is the famus musical genius Beethven. Students have a certain understanding f the
backgrund knwledge, which is beneficial fr understanding the text.

1. 本节课应用了智慧课堂和平板电脑进行教学，教学过程中应用了视频， PPT，投屏，讨论等多种互动功能，学生课堂参与度高，提高了学生对英语学习的兴趣，提高了课堂效率。
2. 本节课重点在于锻炼学生绘制graphic rganizer梳理文章并进行口头输出，该环节用时较多，效果也较好。
3. 本节课不足之处在于迁移创新环节没有留足时间，对文本的挖掘不够深入
。
