ptates, which has brught great enjyment t the autistic yuths, as they have seen the fruits f their wn farm wrk.
“We hpe t develp (研发) sme high-value-added farm prducts (高附加值的农产品) here in the future. This will allw the yuths t prmte their skills while als imprving the

Changing animal p (粪便) int future babies might sund like magic, but scientists think it culd becme a new way t help endangered animals. A prject in the UK called the “P Z” is testing whether cells (细胞) in animal waste can be used as tls fr preservatin.
Animal p is nt nly full f bacteria (细菌) but als has tiny (微小的) cells frm inside
the animal’s bdy. If the p is fresh enugh, sme f these cells are still alive. Researchers have already fund living cells in drppings frm mice and ther animals.
These living cells culd be used fr wildlife rescue. Scientists can take DNA frm the cells t study the variety f wild ppulatins and chse which animals can have babies tgether as
parents. In the future, the same cells might even be used t prduce baby animals in the lab. One pssible methd is clning (克隆), in which the key part f a living cell is put int an empty egg cell and then grws inside anther female.
A mre creative idea is t reprgram (从新编程) these living cells int many types f cells, including sex cells. In mice, scientists have already shwn that such cells can be turned int sex
cells. If this wrks fr endangered animals, scientists culd use lab-made sex cells t help them have babies withut catching them r taking sex cells directly frm their bdies.
The “P Z” methd als has practical advantages. Getting living cells frm the bld,
skin r hair f endangered animals can be dangerus and expensive, but cllecting p is safe and des nt hurt the animals.30 These cells can be kept in bi-banks fr years. A wildlife prtectin rganizatin has successfully clned an extinct species using preserved cells. Hwever, many
experts warn that the “P Z” methd alne cannt save wildlife. They pint ut that prtecting habitats and fighting illegal hunting are still the mst imprtant tasks. New tls like thse used in the “P Z” shuld supprt rather than replace traditinal preservatin wrk.
28 .Why can animal waste be used fr animal prtectin?
A .Because it has living cells. B .Because it is fresh enugh.
C .Because it has magic pwer. D .Because it is rich in bacteria.
29 .Why des the authr mentin mice in paragraph 4?
      A .T cmpare different species. B .T make a sund (合理的)suggestin.
      C .T shw an unexpected result. D .T give a successful example.
30 .Which f the fllwing wrds can best describe the “P Z” way?
A .Cheap and prductive. B .Creative and expensive.
C .Harmless and effective. D .Practical and traditinal.
31 .What is the experts’ attitude t the “P Z” methd?
      A .Hpeful. B .Objective. C .Unclear. D .Wrried.
      D
      Based n a three-year-lng study n millins f phnes in ninety-eight cuntries,
researchers fund the glbal netwrk f Andrid smartphnes makes a useful earthquake early
warning system (地震预警系统哪), which can detect (探测) earthquakes and give users valuable secnds t act befre the shaking starts.
Many cuntries have used traditinal earthquake early warning systems with netwrks f earthquakes sensrs t detect quakes and issue warnings acrss the affected area. Building such netwrks is expensive, and many areas where earthquakes are cmmn d nt have them. What they d have, hwever, is smartphnes, which have built-in mvement sensrs. Using Andrid smartphnes — which make up 70% f the glbal smartphne market — researchers develped the Andrid Earthquake Alert (AEA) system. “Althugh AEA is nt always as timely as the
traditinal netwrk detectin, it can still detect small shaking during strng earthquakes,” says Allen, the leader f the study.
Wrking n the same way as traditinal earthquake detectin systems, AEA system will send tw types f warnings t the phne after detecting an earthquake. Fr earthquakes f
magnitude 4.5 r higher, the system sends “Take Actin” warnings t users. These warnings are designed t draw users’ attentin immediately and remind them t take prtective actins. It als delivers “Be Aware” warnings t areas expected t experience a shaking f magnitude 3 r 4.
T test hw effective these warnings were, the researchers used search engines t cllect vluntary answers. Results frm arund 15.5 millin peple shwed that 87% f them did
experience shaking, with 36% receiving the warning befre the grund began t mve, 28% during and 23% after.
Nw, the researchers are fcused n imprving the AEA system. “We think that we can
cntinue t imprve the quality f earthquake detectin, and als imprve n ur strategies t
deliver effective warnings,” says Allen. In the future, Allen and his teammates hpe t use the
same infrmatin t prduce ther disaster-reducing tls. Maps f grund shaking, fr example, culd help the emergency rescue after an earthquake.
32 .What is AEA’s advantage ver the traditinal way?
A .It has smarter sensrs. B .It requires less funding.
C .It sends earlier warnings. D .It detects smaller quakes.
33 .What decides the type f warnings?
A .Result f the earthquake. B .Site f the earthquake.
C .Magnitude f the earthquake. D .Reasn f the earthquake.
      34 .What d Allen’s wrds mean in paragraph 5?
      A .Technlgical advances prevent disasters.
B .Researches n earthquakes are in demand.
C .Quality f rescue tls requires imprvement.
D .The warning system needs further develpment.
35 .What is the purpse f this text?
      A .T intrduce a warning system. B .T cmpare tw types f alerts.
C .T raise public safety awareness. D .T prmte a disaster rescue tl.

66 .The rganizatin is aimed t prmte wrld peace.
“这个组织”是 the rganizatin ,“旨在”是固定短语 be aimed t,句子描述客观事实,时态用一般现在时,主语 The rganizatin 是单数,因此 be 动词用 is,“促进”是 prmte,“世界和平”是 wrld peace,故答案为 The rganizatin is aimed t prmte wrld peace.
67 .Sme animals have disappeared frm the planet.
Sme animals have disappeared frm the planet.
68 .The ld man is watching ver his sheep.
The ld man is watching ver his sheep.
      69 .I didn’t intend her t see the painting.
I didn’t intend her t see the painting.
70 .We had/have t adapt quickly t the new system.
We had/have t adapt quickly t the new system.
