Teaching Prcess:
I. Warm-up (5 minutes)
1. Begin the lessn by asking students t share their thughts n what makes a gd blg pst. Encurage them t cnsider elements such as structure, rganizatin, vcabulary, grammar, and audience engagement.
2. Review the key pints and difficulties f the lessn and ask students t share any questins r cncerns they may have abut the task at hand.
II. Intrductin t Blg Writing (10 minutes)
1. Intrduce the tpic f the blg pst by explaining its purpse and audience (students wh are interested in imprving their English study skills).
2. Discuss the imprtance f clear structure and rganizatin in a blg pst, citing examples frm successful blgs r articles.
3. Explain the criteria fr evaluating the quality f a blg pst, including cherence, relevance, accuracy, and creativity.
4. Prvide an verview f the assignment requirements, including length, frmatting, and cntent fcus areas (e.g., grammar, vcabulary, reading cmprehensin).
III. Brainstrming and Outlining (15 minutes)
1. Divide students int small grups and assign each grup a specific cntent fcus area (e.g., grammar, vcabulary).
2. Instruct each grup t brainstrm ideas related t their cntent fcus area, taking care t cnsider different angles and perspectives n the tpic.
3. Have each grup share their ideas with the larger grup and discuss any verlapping r cmplementary cncepts.
4. Use these ideas as a starting pint fr utlining the structure f the blg pst, including an intrductin, bdy paragraphs, and cnclusin. Encurage students t use transitinal phrases t cnnect their ideas smthly.
IV. Writing and Revising (20 minutes)
1. Have each grup begin writing their blg pst using the utline they created earlier. Encurage them t use cmplete sentences, prper grammar, and varied vcabulary thrughut the pst.
2. As they wrk, remind students t pay attentin t their cntent fcus area(s) and ensure that they address it effectively within their writing.
3. After 10 minutes, have each grup switch tpics and cntinue writing their blg pst while incrprating feedback frm their peers n the previus tpic(s). This will allw students t practice applying their knwledge acrss different cntent areas and receive multiple perspectives n their writing.
4. When time is up, ask students t stp writing and take a shrt break befre mving n t the next stage f the lessn.
V. Editing and Revising (15 minutes)
1. Have each grup read their cmpleted blg pst alud t themselves and t the class, making nte f any areas that need imprvement (e.g., clarity, cherence).
2. Remind students that editing invlves mre than just crrecting spelling and grammar errrs; it als invlves rerganizing ideas, adding r remving infrmatin, and imprving verall flw and readability.
3. Prvide students with a checklist f editing strategies they can use t imprve their writing (e.g., using active vice, varying sentence structure, aviding clichés). Ask them t apply these strategies as they edit their psts, seeking input frm their peers when necessary.
4. When time is up, ask students t return t their riginal writing fr ne final rund f revisin befre mving n t the next stage f the lessn.
VI. Peer Feedback (5 minutes)
1. Have each grup exchange their edited blg psts with a partner r small grup fr peer feedback n cntent fcus areas (e.g., grammar), rganizatin, clarity, creativity, etc. Encurage them t prvide specific suggestins fr imprvement rather than simply agreeing r disagreeing with each ther's wrk.
2. After receiving feedback frm their peers, have each grup revise their psts accrdingly befre mving n t the final stage f the lessn (see belw).
VII. Final Draft (5 minutes)
1. Have each grup present their final edited blg psts t the class fr review and discussin (if time allws). Encurage students t engage with their peers' wrk by asking questins r ffering additinal feedback based n what they have learned thrughut the lessn.
2. As a clsing activity, ask students t reflect n what they have learned abut effective blg writing and hw it relates t their wn persnal grwth as English learners. Encurage them t cntinue practicing their writing skills utside f class by setting aside time each day t read r write abut tpics that interest them in English.
