    Why we cry with happiness shw: Respnding with a negative reactin helps us deal with extreme jy. If yu cry with happiness at weddings, yu are respnding t a happy experience with a negative reactin. The researchers believe the unusual reactin may help renew emtinal balance in ur lives and keep extreme emtins under cntrl. The findings make it clear hw peple express and cntrl their emtins, which culd help imprve their understanding f peple’s mental health.
    Dr Oriana Aragn set ut t explre the phrase “tears f jy”,which she said never made sense t her. But after studying a series f incngruus (不协调的) expressins, she nw understands better why peple cry when they are happy. “Peple may be renewing emtinal balance with these expressins,” she explained. “They seem t take place when peple are struck by strng psitive emtins. Peple, wh d this, seem t recver better frm thse strng emtins.”
    The reprt shws varius examples f respnding t a psitive experience with a negative emtin,such as a crying wife seeing the husband returning frm the war again, and teenage girls screaming at a Justin Bieber cnceit.     Dr Aragn and her team discvered that peple, wh expressed negative reactins t psitive news, were able t mderate (缓和) strng emtins mre quickly. There is als sme evidence that strng negative feelings may prvke psitive expressins. Fr example, nervus laughter ften happens when peple are faced with a hard situatin. We’ve seen peple smiling during times f extreme sadness.
