The Wenchuan Earthquake, als knwn as the Great Sichuan Earthquake, struck China n May 12, 2008. It was a devastating seismic event with a magnitude f 7.9 that caused widespread destructin. The earthquake's epicenter was in the Sichuan prvince, and its effects were felt acrss the regin.
The earthquake resulted frm the cllisin f the Indian Plate with the Eurasian Plate, causing immense tectnic stress alng the Lngmenshan Fault. This stress accumulated ver time until it was released in a pwerful rupture, causing the grund t shake vilently.
