情态动词本身有词义,表示某种语气或感情,但词义不完整,不能单独作谓语,只能和(1)_______起构成谓语。情态动词没有(2)_______的变化。
基础盘点
一、can、be able t和culd的用法
l. 当成功地完成某一具体动作时,通常用was/were able t。这时was/were able t相当于managed t,表示经过一番努力,终于能够完成某事。
The wunded man was still able t get t the village and was saved in the end. 这个伤员仍然坚持到达村庄,最终获救了。
2. can和culd比较
委婉客气地提出问题或陈述看法,一般用culd,回答时则用can。
Culd yu help me carry the bag? 请你帮我拿一下这个袋子好吗?
Can I help yu? 有什么可以为您效劳的吗?
二、must、mustn’t和have t的用法must表示在主观上“必须;应该”,没有时态变化,它还可以表示肯定的推测。Mustn’t表示“禁止”。have t表示“必须;不得不”,是由于某种外界(客观)原因而“不得不”做某事,have t的否定形式表示“不必”。

三、will和shall的用法比较
will用于各种人称,表示“意愿;决心;责任;必须;一定”等:在疑问句中,常与第二人称连用,表示说话人向对方提出“请求”或“询问”;will还表示习惯性的动作,有“总是;习惯于”的含义。
在疑问句中,shall用于征求对方的意见或请求指示,常用于第一、三人称。

四、wuld和used t的用法
wuld表示客气的请求、建议或意愿,或过去反复发生的动作。
used t表示过去常发生的动作或存在的习惯,但现在已不存在。
Wuld yu please be quiet? 请你安静点好吗?
When I passed my schl, I wuld see my teachers wh taught me5 years ag. 当我经过我的学校时,我总是会去看看5年前教我的老师。
There used t be a park here. 这儿以前有个公园。
五、need和dare的用法
need既可作情态动词,也可作实义动词,作实义动词时后面的动词不定式要带t,其变化与一般动词相同。
dare作情态动词时,主要用在疑问句和否定句中。若作实义动词,有时态和人称的变化,后面可接带t的不定式,t可以省略。

过去将来时是由“_____________________”或“_____________________”构成的。
过去将来时表示从过去某一时间来看将要发生的某个动作或存在的某种状态。但这个“将来”时间绝不会延伸到“现在”,而仅限于“过去时间区域内”。

一、过去将来时的用法
过去将来时表示从过去某个时间看将要发生的动作或存在的状态,常用于宾语从句或间接引语中。
过去将来时常用“shuld/wuld+动词原形”或“was/were ging t+动词原形”来表达。
Whenever we had truble, he wuld cme t help us. 每当我们遇到困难时,他总会来帮助我们。
I didn’t knw when she wuld cme, but when she came I wuld let yu knw. 我不知道她什么时候来,但她来了我会告诉你。
The teacher said that it wuld be very difficult t make prgress if I didn’t wrk hard. 老师说,如果我不努力学习的话,就很难取得进步。
We were ging t g t the cinema when the phne rang. 我们正准备去电影院,这时电话响了。
注意:
(1)条件状语从句和时间状语从句中须用一般过去时代替过去将来时。
(2)was/were ging t d sth表示在过去某一时间准备、计划做某事,或将要发生某事。
(3)表示过去的某种习惯性行为,只用wuld,
二、过去将来时的其他结构
1. was/were abut t d sth表示“正要/即将做某事”;was/were n the pint f ding sth表示“正要做某事”
2. g、cme、leave、take ff等少数动词(短语)可用过去进行时表示过去将要发生的情况;was/were t d sth表示曾计划做某事。
3. was/were suppsed t d sth was/were meant t d sth 可以表示过去计划做但没有做某事 I culdn’t g t Tm’s birthday party as I was abut t g t hspital. 我不能参加汤姆的生日晚会,因为我要去医院。
