By guiding students t analyze Jhn Snw's prcess and methds f explring the surce f chlera, cutting ff the surce f infectin, and finally preventing the epidemic f chlera, the textbk urges them t think abut and srt ut the basic steps and cmmn methds f scientific research, and understand the imprtant rle f questining spirit in scientific research.
    This paper is a narrative text that describes the develpment prcess f events in chrnlgical rder.
    The steps f scientific research are the hidden clue f the article.
    The first paragraph intrduces the backgrund f the research. The secnd paragraph is the first stage f scientific research, that is, raising the questin: there were tw views n the surce f chlera at that time. The fllwing third paragraph describes the research prcess adpted by Snw: cllecting data, analyzing results, finding further evidence, and finally reaching a cnclusin. Snw came up with a scientific and effective way t map chlera cases. He marked the residences f all the patients wh died f chlera n the map, s that the residences with high mrtality culd be seen bviusly. Snw fund that residents f zer death hmes did nt have water frm a pump because they received free beer. As a result, snw suspected that the pump was the prblem. Supprted by anther case, snw cncluded that the water in the pump carried chlera bacteria. He immediately had the pump handle remved, cutting ff the transmissin f chlera. The furth paragraph reveals the truth abut the spread f chlera. It has been prved that the water in Brad Street is plluted by waste, and peple wh drink such water will greatly increase the prbability f getting sick. The last paragraph describes Snw's cntributin t the cntrl f chlera transmissin.
    Thanks t snw's tireless effrts, peple began t drink clean water, and the threat f chlera was significantly reduced wrldwide. His research results and research methds are als f practical significance t the preventin f chlera tday, and "chlera map" has becme a classic case f epidemilgical research, s snw has wn the reputatin f "father f epidemilgy".
