一、教学目标
1. 复习本模块的重点单词、短语和句子。
2. 能够理解并运用由after, as soon as, since, while, when, before引导的时间状语从句。

Read the sentences.
Present some sentences with adverbial clause of time. Read theses sentences.
Grammar
1. 概念:在英语中用从句来表示一件事情或一个行为发生的时间,那么这个从句就叫时间状语从句。时间状语从句根据其表示的时间不同,所使用的连词也不同,常见的有when, while,before,after,as soon as,since,until等。不同的引导词引导的时间状语从句的意义也不同。
2. 引导词:
when
谓语既可以是延续性的,也可以是非延续性的
When they were singing, a stranger came in.
I studied in No. 1 Middle School when I stayed in Beijing.
while
谓语只能是延续性动词
She rushed in while we were discussing problem.
Lisa was singing while Ted was dancing.
as soon as
强调主句动作紧接着从句动作发生
You’d better ring up as soon as you get there.
since
主句常用现在完成时,从句常用一般过去时
Since he met Jane, he has made great progress in his study.
until
主句为否定句,主句谓语动词需用非延续性动词;主句是肯定句,主句谓语动词需用延续性动词
Miller didn’t leave until I came back.
I will wait until I hear from you.
before, after
before表示主句动作发生在从句动作之前;after表示主句动作发生在从句动作之后
Don’t forget to wash your hands before you have meal.
Joy arrived after the game started.
3. when和while的区别
引导词
when
释义
when既可以表示在某一时间点发生的事,又可以表示在某一时间段发生的事。主句与从句描述的动作或事情同时发生,也可以先后发生。
例句
When the weather is fine, many people go out for a walk.
引导词
while
释义
强调主句与从句的谓语动词所表示的动作在同一时间发生。
(while从句表示持续的行为,从句中要用延续性动词或状态动词,且延续性动词常用进行时态。)
例句
Do not make any noise while I am recording.
