设计说明 首先,通过谈论一年中的季节及每个季节里的节日导入新课。接着,利用图片,通过谈论中秋节教授李明的电子邮件里的生词及短语。然后,通过听后填空、读后回答问题、读后填表逐步学习李明的电子邮件。再次,利用图片,通过谈论感恩节教授詹妮的电子邮件里的生词,并通过听后回答问题、阅读回答问题逐步学习詹妮的电子邮件。紧接着,阅读找出重要的表达并翻译、跟读课文并根据思维导图复述课文内容。最后,处理Let’s Do It!中的听力练习题,并以小组为单位完成Project的任务。本课为阅读课,采用任务型教学的方法,先学习生词和短语,为下文的听力和阅读扫清障碍,再由听力进入邮件的学习,以多样式的阅读来引导学生学习课文,培养学生多方面的阅读能力。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 掌握单词:celebrate, round, however, wonder 接触单词:mid-, lunar, celebration, thanksgiving 短语:Mid-Autumn Festival 2. 能力目标 (1)能用英语流利地表达自己所喜爱的季节及节日; (2)能通过电子邮件的形式就所喜爱的季节及节日进行交流。 3. 情感目标 了解中西方文化的差异,增强彼此间的沟通与友谊。 重点难点 1. 重点:掌握本课节的重点单词、短语和句型。 2. 难点:能用英语流利地表达自己所喜爱的季节及节日。 教学准备 PPT课件;本课课文及听力练习的音频。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up Have a free talk between the teacher and the students. Talk about the seasons and festivals. How many seasons are there in your hometown? What are they? Which season do you like best? Why? There’re many festivals in China, aren’t there? What are the festivals in spring/summer/autumn/winter? Step 2 Presentation Teach the new words celebrate, celebration, lunar, round, however and the expression Mid-Autumn Festival by talking about Mid-Autumn Festival. Show the class a picture of Mid-Autumn Festival and talk like this: Teacher says or asks: There’re so many festivals. We celebrate these festivals. Do you like Mid-Autumn Festival? When is Mid-Autumn Festival? (In the lunar calendar, it’s on August 15.) On that day, the moon is round and bright. What food do we always eat ? (Moon cakes) However, some people don’t like moon cakes. They think they’re too sweet. Step 3 Listening and filling Teacher says: Li Ming wrote an e-mail to Jenny. Listen and fill in the blanks. Why does Li Ming love fall? Because ___________________, ____________ and ___________are in fall. Answers: Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day, his birthday Step 4 Reading 1. Get the class to read Li Ming’s e-mail and answer the following questions. (1) What’s the moon like on Mid-Autumn Festival? (2) What will Li Ming’s family do on the night of Mid-Autumn Festival? (3) What did Li Ming’s grandma do when Li Ming was a little boy? (4)What is the best thing for Li Ming in autumn? Answers: (1) It is round and bright. (2) They will watch the moon and look for Chang’e. (3) She told Li Ming the story of Chang’e. (4) His birthday is in Autumn. 2. Get the class to read Li Ming’s e-mail again and fill in the table.

Show the class two pictures of Thanksgiving and talk like this: Teacher says: Li Ming has a friend in Canada. Her name is Jenny. She has Thanksgiving in Autumn. Do you wonder what people do on Thanksgiving Day? They have the Thanksgiving parade and Thanksgiving dinner. Step 6 Listening and answering Teacher says: Now, listen to Jenny’s e-mail and answer the following question. Why does Jenny like autumn? Answer: Because Thanksgiving is in autumn. Step 7 Reading Get the class to read Jenny’s e-mail and answer the following questions. 1. Where will Jenny go on Thanksgiving Day? 2. When is Canadian Thanksgiving? And when is Thanksgiving in the U.S.? Answers: 1. She will go to her grandfather and grandmother’s house. 2. The Canadian Thanksgiving is on the second Monday of October. In the U.S., Thanksgiving is on the fourth Thursday of November. Get the class to read the two e-mails following the recording. 2. Get the class to retell the e-mails according to the mind map.
