    Lesson 15: A Present for Li Ming

    设计说明

    首先,通过谈论礼物导入新课。接着,展示大小、款式、颜色不同的四件夹克衫,通过讨论它们的大小、款式等来教授本课节生词和短语;并通过Let’s Do It! No.3来巩固所学单词。然后,由听对话回答问题进入对本课的学习。通过读后回答问题、读后判断正误、把对话改写成短文等环节逐步加深对课文的学习。再次,处理Let’s Do It! No.2 的听力练习题。最后,和同学们一起总结写作有关购物文章的步骤及其常用交际用语,并完成 Let’s Do It! No. 4的内容。购物也是比较切合实际的话题,所以,在教学时要多让学生进行切合实际的模拟练习。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1. 知识目标

    掌握单词size, fit, anyway

    接触单词:style

    短语:the same size as, try on

    2. 能力目标

    (1)掌握购物的交际用语;

    (2)就所购物品的大小、颜色、款式等与他人进行交流。

    3. 情感目标

    亲朋好友间互赠礼品,增进彼此间的友谊。

    教学过程

    Step 1  Lead-in

    Free talk.

    Talk about presents.

    The teacher can ask the class the following questions to lead them to talk

    Have you got presents from others?

    How did you feel when you got a nice present?

    Have you ever bought a present for a friend?

    What do you consider when you shop for clothing?

    Step 2  Presentation 

    Teach the new words size, style, fit, anyway and phrases the same size as, try on by discussing the pictures.

      

    The teacher says:

       When we buy clothing, we should consider size, style and colour.

    There are four jackets.

    Look! The first one is L, the second is M, the last two are S. So the first three are different in size, but the third one is the same size as the last one.

    Look at the shape. Their shapes are different. So their styles are different. And their colours are different, too.

    Which one fits you? You can try them on. Your old jackets are too small for you now. Anyway, you must buy one for you.

    Step 3  Practice

    Get the class to read the new words and phrases, and remember them. Then, match the words with the correct meanings.(Lets Do It! No. 3)

    The teacher says: Jenny wants to buy a present for her friend Li Ming. Now, listen to the recording and answer the question:

    Where are Jenny and Brian?

    Answer: They are in a clothing store.

    Step 5  Reading

    1. Get the class to read the dialogue and answer the following questions.

      (1) Where does Li Ming live now?

    (2) Who tries on the jacket for Li Ming?   

    (3) Does the yellow jacket fit?

    (4) What style does Jenny like?

    (5) What will Jenny buy for Li Ming in the end?

    Answers: (1) China.

             (2) Brain. 

             (3) No, it doesn’t.

             (4) The style of the bright green jacket. 

             (5) A red jacket.

    2. Get the class to read the dialogue and write true (T) or false (F).

       (Lets Do It! No.1)

      (1) Jenny is looking for a birthday present for Li Ming.  (    )

    (2) Jenny thinks about the size, colour and style when she buys the present.                                                                      (    )

    (3) Brian is the same size as Li Ming.  (    )

    (4) Li Ming’s favourite colour is bright green.  (    )

    (5) Jenny doesn’t find a present for Li Ming in the end.   (    )

    Step 6  Reading and rewriting

      1. Get the class to read the dialogue.

      2. Get the class to change the dialogue into a passage.

      Answer:

        Jenny wants to buy a present for Li Ming’s birthday. So she and Brian go into a clothing store. The clerk shows them a yellow jacket. Brian tries it on, but it is too small. And Jenny doesn’t think Li Ming would like it. Brian tries on a bright green one. Jenny likes the style, but she knows Li Ming hates bright green. Li Ming’s favourite colour is red. In the end, they buy a red jacket for Li Ming.

      Discuss how to write dialogues about shopping with the whole class.

    Step 9  Making up a dialogue

      Work in pairs. Pretend you want to buy something for your mother’s or your father’s birthday. You are in a shop talking to a clerk about what to buy. What will you buy? Why? Make up a dialogue with your partner. Then act it out.

    Sum up what weve learnt in this period with the class.

    2. Try on this jacket, please. 请试穿一下这件夹克衫。

      try on 试穿  

      try on 为“动词+副词”结构,宾语是代词时,须放在tryon之间; 

      宾语是名词时,放于on前后皆可。

      May I try on the shirt? 我可以试穿一下这件衬衫吗?

      The coat looks nice. Let me try it on. OK?

    这件外套看上去不错。让我试穿一下,可以吗?

    3. Does it fit? 它合身吗?
