Lesson 17: Presents from Canada!
设计说明 首先,通过与同学们谈论生日及送同学们贺卡的话题引入本课内容。接着,利用图片和例句学习本课节的词汇,并跟读练习,然后利用Let’s Do It!中的练习3进行词汇检测。之后进入课文学习:首先借助课本上的图片听录音大体了解课文内容,然后再完成Let’s Do It!中的练习1;通过阅读回答问题、阅读说出寄礼物的步骤及阅读查找重要短语的环节进一步掌握课文,巩固所学内容。再次,让学生们参照Jenny和Danny贺卡上的祝福语向同学和朋友表达祝福。最后,讲解本课中的重要知识点。本课节先通过词汇的教学为后面的学习扫清障碍,再由浅及深地展开对课文的学习,通过当堂达标的习题检测学生的掌握情况。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词:tape, post, yet, address, top, stamp 接触单词:thirteenth 短语:best wishes to …, on the top of, have no luck 句型:All ready! Happy Birthday to my best Chinese friend, Li Ming. Best wishes to you on your thirteenth birthday. Remember me when you wear my gift! 2.能力目标 能用英语表达祝福。 3.情感目标 学会表达情感,关心朋友。 重点难点 1.重点:掌握本课重点单词、短语和句子。 2.难点:能用英语表达祝福。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up Have a free talk with students. Show some pictures and ask students questions: Q1: Do you know your best friend’s birthday?
Q2: Have you ever sent a birthday card?
Q3: What do you usually write in birthday cards?
Step 2 Presentation 1. Teach the new words tape, post, address, top, thirteenth, stamp and yet by using the pictures and making sentences.
2. Read the new words at least three times and try to remember them. thirteenth num. & adj. & adv. 第十三(的) tape n. 胶带 post/mail v. 邮寄 address n. 地址 stamp n. 邮票 top n. 顶部;(物的)上面 yet adv. 还;仍旧(用于否定句中) 3. Check the new words. Let students match the words with the correct meanings. (Let’s Do It! No.3)
Step 3 Listening 1. Show the picture of the lesson and ask: What are they doing?
2. Play the recording of the lesson for the class to listen and ask them to answer the above question. Answer: They are preparing cards and presents for Li Ming. 3. Play the recording of the lesson again for the class to listen and ask them to tick the sentences that DO NOT belong. (Let’s Do It! No.1) √□Brian makes a birthday cake for Li Ming. □They send Li Ming their birthday presents and cards. □They put the presents and the cards in a box. □They write Li Ming’s address on the box and close it with tape. √□Jenny finds some stamps and glues them on the box. Step 4 Reading 1. Get the class to read the lesson carefully and answer the questions. (1) What does Jenny write in Li Ming’s card? (2) How old is Li Ming? (3) Where do they put the presents and cards? (4) Who writes Li Ming’s address on the top of the box? (5) What does the sentence “but she has no luck” mean? (6) Where do they go to get some stamps? Answers: (1) Happy Birthday, Li Ming! From your friend, Jenny. (2) He is thirteen. (3) They put them into a box. (4) Danny. (5) It means Jenny doesn’t find stamps. (6) They go to the post office to get some stamps. 2. Get the class to read the paragraphs 4-6 and speak out : How do they post the presents and cards? Answers:

3. Get the class to read the lesson again ,find these phrases and then translate them into Chinese. make sth. for sb.为某人制作某物 send sth. to …把某物寄到…… pass sb. sth. 递给某人某物 best wishes to ...给……最美好的祝愿 put… into …把……放进…… on the top of在……顶上 Not yet! 还不行! All ready! 一切都准备好了! look for 寻找 have no luck未能如愿,不走运 come on快点 Step 5 Show 1. Show Jenny’s and Danny’s birthday cards to Li Ming. Ask students to read them aloud.
2. Ask students to make a birthday card for one of their classmates. Tell him or her why he or she is a special person. Don’t forget to make the card beautiful. Show some students’ birthday cards to the class. Step 6 Language points 1. They are going to send the cards and presents to China. 他们正打算把卡片和礼物邮到中国去。 send sth. to some place把某物送或寄到某地 send sth. to sb.=send sb. sth.给某人寄/送某物 I will send Grandmother a gift on her birthday. = I will send a gift to Grandmother on her birthday. 祖母生日时我要寄给她一件礼物。 2. Jenny passes him her card.詹姆把她的卡片递给他。 pass v. 传递;递给 pass sb. sth.= pass sth. to sb.把某物递给某人 Be careful when you are passing the glass.传递玻璃时要小心。 Pass me the book, please. = Pass the book to me, please. 请把那本书递给我。 【拓展】pass 还可表示“经过;过去”。 He passed by me without a word.他一言不发地走过我身边。 Ten years have passed since we met last time. 从我们上次见面到现在已过去了十年。 3. Best wishes to you on your thirteenth birthday. 在你13岁生日之际,把最好的祝福送给你。 best wishes to sb.向某人致意/表达祝愿 此处wish是名词,常用复数形式。 Please give my best wishes to your parents. 请代我向你的父母致意。 【拓展】wish v. 希望;祝愿 I wish you a long life.我祝你长寿。 4. He writes Li Ming’s address on the top of the box. 他把李明的地址写在盒子上面。 on the top of 在……顶上 There is some snow on the top of the mountain.山顶上有雪。 Two birds are sitting on the top of a house. 两只鸟正落在房顶上。 5. They mean the same thing.他们都表示同样的东西。 mean v. 意思是;打算;导致;意味着 “Ancient” means very, very old . ancient 的意思是非常非常久远。 What does this word mean?这个单词是什么意思? 【拓展】mean to do sth.打算/意欲做某事 I didn’t mean to hurt you.我不是有意伤害你。 Step 7 Homework 1.Recite the new words and expressions. 2.
