Step 2  Presentation 

1. Teach the new words and phrases southern, recently, tourist, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

Hunan is a province in southern China.

What’s the weather in your home town? It has been rainy recently here.

Every year, lots of tourists come to visit the Great Wall.

         Do you like P. E. ? Show how to play your favourite sport.

         Do you like art? Present some of the things you have made in your art class. Talk about your artwork.

northern, western, eastern分别表示 “北方的”“西方的”“东方的”。

3. A few days ago, our teacher took us to a Chinese grocery store and a Chinese restaurant. 几天前，我们的老师带我们去了一家中国食品店和一家中国餐馆。

(1)a few 几个，有些(表示肯定)

few作形容词，表示“很少数的，几乎没有的”，a few和few都修饰可数名词复数。a little表示“一点儿，少量，一些”；little意为“少，不多”，两者都修饰不可数名词。

We have a few apples. 我们有几个苹果。

There is little milk in the cup. 杯子里几乎没有牛奶了。

(2) ago adv.  以前

常放在时间段之后，与一般过去时连用。

Five days ago, he came here with his mother.

五天前，他和他妈妈来这儿了。

—A month ago. 一个月以前。

【拓展】before 可作介词，常用于“before+时间点”，与一般将来时连用。

还可作连词，常用于“before+时间状语从句”，从句的时态由主句的时态决定。before作副词时，单独使用，常与现在完成时连用。

We will call him before 2 o’clock.

我们将在两点前给他打电话。

Did she say anything before she left?她走之前说什么了吗？

I have been to the museum before. 我之前去过这家博物馆。

(3) take v. 带领；带去

take sb. to…带领某人去……

Can you take us to the new museum? 你能带我们去新博物馆吗？

4. On Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, children say thank you to their parents. 在母亲节和父亲节这天，孩子们向他们的父母道谢。

say thank you to向……道谢

I want to say thank you to my English teacher. 我想向我的英语老师道谢。
