设计说明

首先通过复习不同的电视节目来导入，自由会话，谈论自己喜欢的电视节目；然后用my son’s favourite programme 和my favourite programme来呈现生词，导入新课，然后根据不同的任务如略读、精读和深入读等来引导学生逐步理解课文，逐步通晓阅读的技巧，最后解决课文中的重要知识点，为更好地掌握课文扫清障碍。

教学目标

通过本课时的教学，让学生达成以下目标：

1.知识目标

掌握单词和短语：round-up, up-to-date, fan, coming, cover, live, Asian, vote, announce, murder, murderer, horror, direct, director, wealthy, mystery, might, scared, unless, animal-lover, scene, latest, record, a number of, music video, text message。

2.能力目标

提高学生根据阅读文章判断正误的能力，逐步掌握阅读技巧。

3.情感目标

通过阅读, 鼓励学生拥有适度的合理的业余爱好, 合理利用业余时间，科学地安排好自己的学习和生活。

1. A weekly round-up of what is happening in sport, with up-to-date information. 一周体育新闻摘要及最新消息。

（1）weekly  形容词，意为“每周一次的, 每周的”，常在名词前作定语。

a weekly magazine 周刊    a weekly visit 每周一次的拜访

（2）happen 不及物动词，意为“发生”, 主语常是物（无被动语态）。

happen to sb./sth. 某人/某物发生什么事

【拓展】 happen to do sth. 意为“碰巧做某事”。

（3）up-to-date 形容词，意为“最新的；现代的”，与latest同义。

All our information is up-to-date on the computer. 我们计算机上的所有信息都是最新的。

We can find some up-to-date information on the Internet. 我们可以在网上发现一些最新的信息。

2. There are a number of interviews with famous players.

有许多对著名运动员的采访。

  (1) a number of 意为“大量的，许多的”, 后接可数名词复数，作主语时谓语动词用复数形式，number前面可用large或small等词修饰，表示程度。the number of 意为“……的数量”，后接可数名词复数，作主语时谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。

A large number of students are playing football on the playground.

许多学生正在操场上踢足球。

(2) interview 可作动词或名词，意为“采访”。

The reporter is interviewing the singer.

= The reporter is having an interview with the singer. 记者正在采访那位歌手。

(1) be covered live 意为“被现场直播”。

The football match is covered live on TV. 这场足球赛将在电视上现场直播。

(2) cover动词，意为“覆盖，遮蔽”，常用短语为be covered with，意为“被……覆盖”。

She covered the sleeping boy with a coat. 她用外套给正在睡觉的男孩盖上。

  (3) live 作副词或形容词，意为“现场直播(的), 实况转播(的)”。

  There is going to be a live TV programme about teenage problems next week.

4. Many Asian pop stars will attend. 许多亚洲流行歌星会到场。

  attend 动词，意为“出席, 参加, 上学, 到场”。

  She was so sick that she didn’t attend her classes. 她太虚弱了，以至于她没有去上课。

5. Murder in a Country House is a horror film directed by Cindy Clark, a new director. 《乡宅凶杀案》是一部由新晋导演辛迪·克拉克执导的恐怖片。

  direct 动词，意为“执导，导演”。

  He directed various TV shows. 他执导过多种题材的电视节目。

  He seemed to be in direct contact with the boss.

6. In the film, a wealthy doctor is found dead in his house.

② dying  形容词，意为“奄奄一息的；垂死的”，一般作定语。

The little girl cried when she saw her dying cat.

③death 名词，意为“死亡”。

His mother’s death was a great blow to him. 他母亲的死对他来说是个巨大的打击。

7. The situation will continue unless humans stop hunting them for their fur and bones. 这种情况会继续，除非人们停止为获取它们的毛皮和骨头而进行的猎杀。

unless 连词，意为“除非”, 在句中引导条件状语从句，相当于 if...not。如果主句是一般将来时，从句常用一般现在时表示将来。

I won’t let you in unless you show me your pass.

= I won’t let you in if you don’t show me your pass.

除非你出示你的通行证，不然我不会让你进去。

I will not finish the task unless you help me.

=If you don’t help me, I will not finish the task.
