设计说明 首先通过自由会话引入篮球,通过图片呈现生词,导入新课,然后根据Spud Webb的不同的成长阶段设置不同的任务,引导学生逐步理解课文,逐步通晓阅读的技巧,最后解决课文中的重要知识点,为更好地掌握课文扫清障碍。 教学目标 通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词和短语:junior high, score, senior high, stand, leader, name, university, simply, junior college, national, championship, succeed, scholarship, although, graduate, force, league, remain, achievement, prove, matter, try out for sth., lose heart, change one’s mind, succeed in doing sth., take notice of。 2.能力目标 (1)通过阅读,了解斯巴德·韦伯以及全美职业篮球联赛。 (2)学会讲述个人的生平经历。 (3)提高学生阅读的能力,逐步掌握阅读技巧。 3.情感目标 通过阅读,培养学生在成长过程中无论遇到什么困难都永不言弃的精神。 重点难点 重点:学习并掌握本课时的单词和短语,理解文章大意,掌握重要句型。 难点:灵活使用短语和句型,如:succeed in doing sth., take notice of, try out for sth.等。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片。 授课时数 2课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Ask and answer questions. Do you like playing basketball? Are you good at it? How often do you play basketball? Step 2 Presentation 1. Present some new words by showing them some pictures. 2. Ask them to read the new words together. 3. Do B1. Match the words with their meanings. Answers: 1 c 2 e 3 a 4 f 5 b 6 d Step 3 Reading 1. Use some questions to lead in reading the passage: (1) Is it easy for the short man to score points? (2) What do you know about Spud Webb? 2. Tell them something about Spud Webb and introduce something about him.

As a result, he succeeded in getting a scholarship. 结果,他成功获得了奖学金。 succeed in doing sth. 意为“(在某方面)取得成功;达到目的”。 succeed是动词,success是名词,successful是形容词,successfully是副词。 My brother succeeded in winning the competition. =My brother won the competition successfully. 我哥哥成功地在竞赛中获胜。 Mr Wang has success at work. He is a success/ He is successful. 王先生在工作上很成功,他是个成功人士。 4. He remained there for about a year before the NBA took notice of him. 在NBA注意到他之前,他在那儿待了大约一年。 (1)remain 动词,意为“逗留,待”。 作连系动词时, 表示维持某种状态。 I will remain in Beijing for a week. 我要在北京待一周。 Why does she remain silent? 她为何总保持沉默? (2)take notice of 意为“注意”,相当于动词notice。 I didn’t take notice of him when I walked past. 路过的时候我没有注意到他。 Step 6 Homework 1. Read the passage and try to retell it. 2.
