设计说明 首先通过展示一首小诗引出地震这个话题,然后就地震对人、建筑物和地面的影响分项进行阅读,然后再对震中和震后这两个时段对文章进行细读。然后处理书后的练习,进而掌握文章中出现的一些重要知识点,并围绕这些知识点展开一系列的练习巩固。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标: 掌握词汇:shake, loud, fear, direction, while, shaking, silent, if, nervous, heart, beat, mind, since, still, alive, dark, shout, daylight, safe, asleep, after, a loud noise like thunder, start to shake, in fear, run in all directions, come down, beat fast, say to oneself, pull myself slowly through, find one’s way out, move away the bricks 2.能力目标: (1)读懂文章,了解1999年台湾地震的基本情况;培养学生根据关键词和语境猜测大意的能力并理解使用过去进行时的语境。 (2)教育学生学会在自然灾害中自我保护。 3.情感目标: 了解地震,培养学生学会在自然灾害中进行自我保护的能力。 重点难点 重点:读懂文章,了解1999年台湾地震的基本情况。 难点:培养学生根据关键词和语境猜测大意的能力并理解使用过去进行时的语境。 教学准备 PPT课件;相关图片。 授课时数 2课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Have a guess! Show a little poem: I’m the bad son of nature, I like shaking like a dancer. When I am angry, I make a sound like a thunder. You may hear me in Wenchuan 2008. Ask the students: What is the poem about? Ss: Earthquake. Then show them something about Wenchuan Earthquake. Step 2 Presentation 1. Brainstorm. What happens to people, buildings and ground when an earthquake comes? Ask students to think over and share their ideas. 2. Show some pictures and teach some new words. People scream in fear. Some people are died, and some people are alive. People run in all directions. Pieces of glass and bricks fall down. Buildings began to come down. The earth starts to shake. The noise is like bombs under the ground. 3. Read and remember the new words. 4. Vocabulary test. Match the words on the left with the meanings on the right. Write the correct letters in the blanks.(B1 on Page 95) Answers:1-e, 2-c, 3-b, 4-f, 5-a, 6-d Step 3 Reading 1. Skimming. (1) Listen and answer: How was Timmy saved? A. He saved himself. B. Someone else saved him. C. He was saved both by himself and with others’ help. Answer: C (2) Read the article fast, try to match them. At the beginning of the earthquake. (paras.3~5) During the earthquake. (para.2) After the earthquake. (be trapped & be saved) (para.1) 2. Further reading. (1) At the beginning of the earthquake: Read the first paragraph of the article and answer the questions. Q1: What did he hear? A loud noise like thunder. Q2: When did the earthquake start ? About two o’clock in the early morning. Q3: What was he doing? He was sleeping. Q4: What did he feel at first? He felt a slight shake. (2) During the earthquake: Read the second paragraph of the article, then answer the questions and fill the blanks. Q1: Is thunder the real noise? No, it isn’t. Q2: What’s the real noise like? It was like bombs under the ground. When the earthquake came, what did Timmy feel/hear/see/do?
(3) After the earthquake (be trapped & be saved): Read Paragraphs 3~5 to find the answer. Q1: Was Timmy sure to know there was anybody else near him? No, he wasn’t. He did not know if anyone else was near him! Q2: Could he see anything? He couldn’t see anything at all. Q3: Could he hear anything? He couldn’t hear anything at all. Q4: Why didn’t Timmy know if anyone else was near him? Because it was dark and silent around him. Q5: How did Timmy feel when it was dark and silent around him? He felt nervous and his heart was beating fast. A moment of fear went through his mind. Q6: What did Timmy do to find his way out? He told himself to calm down. He shouted for help. He pulled himself slowly through the dark. (4) Read Paragraphs. 3~5 again and try to fill the blanks. When the noise and shaking stopped, Timmy was ________ and could not get out. He felt ________ and his heart was ________ fast. A moment of fear went through his ________. Then he tried to ________ down and ________ himself slowly through the dark. Finally, people came and heard his cry for help. They moved away the bricks and Timmy was ________ at last. (Answers: trapped, nervous, beating, mind, calm, pulled, safe) 3. If at school: 1. Hide under a desk or table. 2. Follow teachers’ advice. If at home: Hide under a heavy table or bed. If on a road: 1. Use something hard (硬的) to protect your head. 2.
