    Step 1 Lead-in
    1. Show the Ss some pictures about teenage problems:
    1) a student being blamed by his father because of low marks
    2) a student sitting at a desk with lots of homework on it
    3) a student running far behind others
    4) a student being laughed because of his height
    2. Encourage the Ss to describe why they look so sad by asking some questions.
    Step 2 Presentation
    1. Tell the Ss: Everyone has problems. My problem is that I sometimes feel tired because I have to work until midnight.
    2. Get them to talk about their problems. Ask some questions.
    3. While the Ss are talking about their worries and problems, write the words on the Bb: friends, homework, marks, noise, parents, sleep
    Get the Ss to read the words.
    4. Get the Ss to look at the pictures on page 35 and complete the sentences.

We can ask them for advice. Millie and Simon write to Mr Sigmund Friend, a youth worker, They tell him their problems and feelings and ask him for advice.

    1. Tell the Ss: Imagine that you have a problem and you can’t deal with it by yourself. Then you can ask someone else for help. It’s worth trying and you’ll get some valuable suggestions.

    Explain: We use a question word to introduce an object clause that expresses a wh- question. The word order in the clause should be the same as that in a statement.
