Tommy and his sister Maggie visited their grandparents on their farm. One day, Tommy found a slingshot (弹弓) in his grandparents' home. He wanted to try it out, so he went into the woods to find the target (靶子) but failed. Getting a little sad, Tommy headed back for lunch. As he was walking home, he saw Grandma's pet duck.
The duck was sleeping. What an easy target! Without much thought, Tommy picked up a stone, placed it in the center of the slingshot and fired. The stone hit the duck on the head and killed it!
Tommy never thought he would really hit the duck. He also felt upset that he had killed Grandma's pet. Feeling afraid that Grandma would punish him, he hid the dead duck in the woods.
Maggie had seen it all from the window, but she said nothing. After lunch the next day, Grandma said, “Maggie, let's wash the dishes. ” Maggie said, “But Grandma, Tommy told me he wanted to help in the kitchen. ”
Then she said quietly to Tommy, “Remember the duck? ” Tommy got nervous, knowing his sister knew about the duck. So without saying anything, he did the dishes.
Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing. Grandma said, “I'm sorry but I need Maggie to help me prepare for the dinner. ” Maggie just smiled and said, “Well, that's all right because Tommy told me he wanted to help. ”
She turned again to Tommy, “Remember the duck? ” So Maggie went fishing and Tommy stayed to help. That night, Tommy lay on the bed, thought about the whole thing and decided that he wouldn't be taken advantage of any longer.

Tommy and his sister Maggie visited their grandparents on their farm. One day, Tommy found a slingshot (弹弓) in his grandparents' home.

六、One possible version:
Dear Frank,
I need your help. My best friend Zhang Min's birthday is coming. She invited me to prepare for her birthday party this Sunday. But there will be an important exam next Monday, and I need to study for it this weekend. If I go to help her, she will be very happy, but I may fail the exam. Then I can't go to my favorite high school. But if I refuse, she will be angry with me. She is my best friend and she trusts me so much. I don't want to make her upset.
Should we have a talk? Can you give me some advice?
Yours,
Li Hua
