Entering the burning huse was like ”“running int a bucket f black paint,” Surrell says. The thick smke caused him t stumble blindly arund, burned his eyes, and made it impssible t breathe. The cnditins wuld have been dangerus t anyne, but fr Surrell, wh has chrnic bstructive pulmnary disease (慢性阻塞性肺病),they were life-threatening.
