Step 1, Free talk
Ask Ss to talk about books they have read.
A: Have you read…?
B: Yes, I have.
A: what’s it about?
B: It’s about….
A: what do you think of it ?
B: I think it’s ….
Step 2, pre-reading
- T: Have your read Robinson Crusoe? How much do you know about this story?
Ss tell the class if they know.
- Watch the picture .Tell Ss a story and teach the new words.
This standing man is called Robinson Crusoe. He is on an island . He lives with tools and uses guns to protect himself. The other man was saved by Robinson from cannibals. What happened to them ? Let’s read.
Step3, While- reading
1. Let Ss read quickly and answer the two questions:
1) What does Robinson Crusoe wait for ?
2)Why does Robinson call the man Friday?
2. Check the answers , let them read again and find words that have these meanings.

5) marks
3. Let Ss read again carefully and correct the sentences in 3c, then check their answers with their groupmates.
