    It was around the 4th grade when I started noticing that I didn't fit in that well with a lot of kids in my grade. While the other girls were starting to wear make-up, style their hair, and only wear fashionable clothing, I stayed the same. At first I didn't care, but then I started to feel a little worried. I was afraid that the other girls wouldn't like me. I wanted to be like them, but I really hated that.
    After I entered the 5th grade my mom found a local vocal studio. I had always loved to sing, and taking lessons seemed like fun. I was thrown into a brilliant world of music. Something inside me just clicked, and I had finally found where I belonged. Music gave me a place of my own in the world.
    Starting voice lessons was the first of many times that music has changed my life. In the 7th grade, I really didn't fit in at middle school. Being an athlete is what made you popular, and I was not super athletic. Music saved me again. Every day I knew I could come home from school and sing. I would become someone else. I would let the music fill my body and shine its light in the darkest corners. The light gave me strength. I became friends with other people who were into music. Music also gave me courage.
    Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “Life without music would be a mistake.” This is true for me. Without music, my life would be a mistake. Maybe I would have found another hobby, but I doubt that it would help and change me the way music did. I know that music had changed my life.

    Chinese pianist Lang Lang won the respected Spanish Premios Ondas award on Tuesday in Barcelona, Spain, becoming the first Chinese to receive the honor.
    The committee said Lang got the award in recognition of his achievements in bringing classical music to the whole world and especially to new and younger audiences.
    Lang, 32, accepted the Special Mention of Music's Award during the 61st Ondas Awards Ceremony 2014 and performed on stage at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. “To receive this award is an encouragement for me,” Lang told China Daily, adding that he would try his best to promote music education for children all over the world and help more children appreciate classical music. Lang also said that he gave a master class to junior music camp students in Barcelona on Nov.15.
    The Premios Ondas awards were first set up in 1954 and are given out annually. In 1956, the program extended its range with an international awards category. Well­known bands U2, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Coldplay, as well as pop singer Ricky Martin, have all previously won the award.
    On Nov.13, Lang won the German Bambi Award in Berlin for his outstanding achievements in classical music. Last year, Lang was also the first Chinese to be named International Artist of the Year at the Classic Brit Awards in Britain.

    Music is an international language. The songs that are sung or played by instruments are beautiful to all people everywhere.
    Popular music in America is what every student likes. Students carry small radios with earphones and listen to music before class, after class, and at lunch. Students with cars buy large speakers and play the music loudly as they drive on the streets.
    Adult drivers listen to music on the car radio as they drive to work. They also listen to the news about sports, the weather, politics, and activities of the American people. Most of the radio broadcast is music.

    Serious music for the concert halls is called classical music. Music for instruments is called orchestra music, such as the symphonies of Beethoven. There is opera for singers. There is ballet for dancers like the story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai in China.

    Karen made up her mind. She decided to take Michael to see his sister whether they liked it or not. If he didn't see his sister now, he may never see her alive. She dressed him in a very big scrub suit (手术服) and they marched into ICU.
