Step 1  Grammar item about “Ellipsis”

Activity 1

1. Look at some pairs example sentences and find out some differences between them.

2. learn about what elliptical sentences are and how part of a sentence is left out.

3. Ellipsis can be divided into nominal ellipsis, verbal ellipsis and clausal ellipsis etc.

Step 2  Practice

Activity 2  Read and find out words removed before or after the underlined words.

1. Technology isn’t the only way to forecast the weather. Nature has its ways, too.
