    The skin is an essential part f yur bdy and is its largest rgan. Yur skin acts as a barrier against disease,txins,and the sun's rays. It als helps cntrl yur bdy temperature,prevents yur bdy frm lsing t much water,warns yu when things are t ht r cld,and gives yu yur sense f tuch.

    CAUSES OF BURNS
    Yu can get burnt by a variety f things:ht liquids,steam,fire,radiatin,the sun,electricity,acids,r ther chemicals.
    TYPES OF BURNS
    Burns are divided int three types, depending n the depth f skin damage.
    CHARACTERISTICS OF BURNS
    Firstdegree burns

    FIRSTAID TREATMENT
    1.Place burns under cl running water,especially within the first ten minutes. The cl water stps the burning prcess and reduces the pain and swelling.
    2.Dry the burnt area gently with a clean clth.
    3.Remve any clthes using scissrs if necessary,unless yu see the fabric sticking t the burnt skin.
    4.Cver the burnt area with a lse clean clth. Applying il t the injured areas is a bad idea, as it will keep the heat in the wunds and may cause infectin.

    First Aid fr Burns

    Burns can result frm dry heat (fire), mist heat (steam, ht liquids), electricity, chemicals, and radiatin (i.e., sunlight). Treatment fr burns depends n:
    The depth f the burn (whether it is first, secnd, r third degree).
    Hw much area f the bdy is affected.
    The lcatin f the burn.
    First degree burns affect nly the uter skin layer. The area appears dry, red, and mildly swllen. A first degree burn is painful and sensitive t tuch. Mild sunburn and brief cntact with a heat surce such as a ht irn are examples f first degree burns. First degree burns shuld feel better within a day r tw. They shuld heal in abut a week if there are n ther prblems. (See "First Aid Prcedures fr First Degree Burns".)
    Secnd degree burns affect the skin's lwer layers as well as the uter skin. They are painful, swllen, and shw redness and blisters. The skin als develps a weepy, watery surface. Examples f secnd degree burns are severe sunburn, burns caused by ht liquids and a flash frm gasline.     Third degree burns affect the uter and deeper skin layers as well as any underlying tissue and rgans. They appear black and white and charred. The skin is swllen and underlying tissue is ften expsed. The pain felt with third degree burns may be less than with first r secnd degree burns. There can als be n pain at all when nerve endings are destryed. Pain may be felt arund the margin f the affected area, hwever. Third degree burns usually result frm electric shcks, burning clthes, severe gasline fires and the like. They always require emergency treatment. They may result in hspitalizatin and smetimes require skin grafts.

    二度烧伤不仅影响皮肤外层,也影响皮肤下层。疼痛、肿胀、红肿、起水泡。皮肤也会形成湿润的表面。二度烧伤的例子是严重的晒伤,由热液体和汽油闪光引起的烧伤。急救程序可以用来治疗许多二度烧伤,这取决于他们的位置和受影响的面积。(参见“要问的问题”和“二度烧伤的急救程序”。)
    三度烧伤会影响到皮肤的外层和深层,以及任何潜在的组织和器官。它们看起来黑白相间,烧焦了。皮肤肿胀,皮下组织经常暴露。三度烧伤的疼痛程度可能比一度或二度烧伤要轻。当神经末梢被破坏时,也可能根本没有疼痛。然而,在受影响区域的边缘可能会感到疼痛。三度烧伤通常是由电击、烧衣服、严重的汽油火灾等引起的。他们总是需要紧急治疗。它们可能导致住院治疗,有时需要植皮。
